This is so stupid. Miyu stopped wiping the mirror with the dirty rag in his hand and let out an annoyed sigh. Fine, he got what he deserved for breaking the dumbest rule in the extremely long list of don'ts, set by the equally long line of caretakers before the young boy's time: the darn curfew. There was no way he could sleep until his ravenous curiosity was satisfied! Nighttime adventures were a very important part in his childhood, to help him grow up into a man among men!
Speaking of which, that wasn't the main point of his current woe. Of all places they could punish him for his innocent out-of-bed stroll, why a girl's bathroom - what's more, the one haunted by a certain annoying female ghost? He couldn't help feeling that this was an (in)direct insult to his gender identity. Throwing another look of disgust at the lipstick mark he had been trying to get rid for the past hour, he glanced around at the cold, gloomy washroom. Thankfully Moaning Myrtle wasn't in here today, and nobody in their right mind would want to drop by this place to let that perverted ghost peek at them and count the number of moles they might have on their butt.
...How wrong he was.
The door to the bathroom suddenly opened; Miyu whipped around to face the unexpected visitor, then dropped the filthy rag onto the wet floor as his eyes widened at the sight of the person coming into the place. He was too mortified to even speak, staring at the newcomer with wide, unblinking eyes as his cheeks began to burn from the embarrassment of his current dilemma.
He wished he could just disappear through the ground below right now...

Life as a ghost was quite boring, really. Lavender got her entertainment where she could and sometimes that itinerary included harassing Moaning Myrtle, as unkind as that was. While she considered her self a good (although dead) person as a whole, the former Gryffindor Princess was prone to bouts of behavior that she wasn't proud of but bothering Myrtle made her feel better. At least there was someone worse off than she was. "Oooooh Myrtle!" Lavender called as she wafted into the perpetually flooded bathroom. The sudden noise had scared someone's cat as it lurked out of bounds and it went darting in to the restroom, pushing the door open.
The ghostly girl paused, tilting her head at the sight of the boy. "You're in the wrong bathroom." she said coolly, shaking back once blonde curls and smoothing out her robes. Lavender's spectral gaze settled on the dropped rag for a moment and then up to the mirror behind him. "Oh, that's not going to work on that." The dead seventh year laughed behind her hand and shook her head. "That's Everlasting Lipstick. It takes a special potion to remove. I'd tell you what it is, but the house elves don't like others doing their work."
Lavender drifted over to the sink, settling herself upon the ledge where she crossed her legs as she got ready for what she was sure would at least be juicy gossip. "So, let's have it then. Why are you cleaning the loo?"

"I-I know that I don't belong here!" Miyu snapped at the newcomer - a ghost, of all people - not bothering to keep the venom out of his irritated tone. "And I'd rather the house elves to do this dumb cleaning than me losing my dignity in a girl's bathroom..." he looked away to one side and muttered, soft enough for only himself to hear, before he faced the pearly-white girl before him with a scowl. Whoever this dead lady was, he felt a little relieved that she wasn't the dreaded Moaning Myrtle. That crazy ghost would probably mock him for having detention in this place for as long as she could haunt here, and pass it down to the next generations of Hogwarts students... Urgh. The thought of it made Miyu even more annoyed, and the grimace on his face deepened. This was just ridiculous, that he got such a punishment for breaking a simple (and stupid) bed curfew. Something on this ghostly newcomer's face was telling him that she wasn't much better than Myrtle. "Detention," was the curt reply as he glared at her with a suspicious look. "I think I've heard about you... The ghost for Gryffindor, or something along that line. Did Myrtle send you here just to taunt me?" Lavender Brown

The little one was quite combative and Lavender only rolled her eyes and ran a hand through dull grey curls. Her hair was always her pride and joy when she was alive and she had to admit even dead, her hair was still better than most. The color was a bit depressing, translucent and grey, but at least bad hair days were a thing of the past. Lavenghost tilted her head as the boy was nearly inaudible "What's that?" she asked, floating a little closer. "Mumbling is rude. Speak up."
Detention. "Obviously. No one cleans the bathrooms willingly." Was her vision going funny? The child was wearing Ravenclaw blue, surely he must be smarter than that. Ravenclaws were supposed to be quick witted and this one was seeming rather thick. "Why are you in detention?" Lavender preened as he speculated on her identity, shaking her head. "No, that's Nearly Headless Nick." Honestly, maybe the house elves mixed up the laundry and he was supposed to be wearing green. Slytherins were gits. "I'm a Gryffindor, and a ghost but not the Gryffindor ghost. I died in the Battle of Hogwarts."
Lavender leaned back on her sink, propping herself up on her wrists and tilting her head up as she reminisced about her last day alive. "I was dueling a Death Eater, I'd nearly had him too but one of his spells blasted me over a railing. I would've survived the fall, I think, but then Greyback saw and tried to tear my throat out." To illustrate that she swept her hair to one side, revealing a nasty bite wound covered in silvery blood on the left side of her neck. "Hermione Granger blasted Greyback away, but then she and Harry and Ron just left me to bleed to death and here I am." As sad about her own death as she was, Lavender was proud of her death. It was a hero's death, one befitting of a true Gryffindor. "You should see my grave. It's lovely, it overlooks a beautiful lake and there's a nice shady tree and a bench that my parents like to sit at. I try to stay after the caretaker to clean out the flowers as they die."
The spectral girl arched her flawlessly sculpted eyebrows. "I was looking for Myrtle, actually. And this is hardly taunting. I've been rather nice, I think." She eyed the boy with a critical eye, lips pressed together thoughtfully. "If I wanted to be mean I'd tell you that you need a hair cut and longer hair isn't a good look for you but..." Lav shrugged her spectral shoulders, fixing her hair so it fell back over her death wound. "All I asked was why you were here."

Miyu took a couple of steps back when the ghost girl moved closer to him. He could almost feel a chill on his face. "Funny that talking to myself is considered rude to you," he commented dryly, watching her with disdain. His opinion of her was going down by the second - on top of giving off a vain vibe, she was probably those gossiping type who would love to ruin someone's life spreading petty rumors around the school for her own petty enjoyment. Now that she had caught him here, maybe he should get himself a Noh mask to hide his shame for the next six years... Actually, he would need that mask... now. "My luck seems to be running extremely low this month," he evaded her question about his detention with a vague response - and nothing could be better than using some divination excuse. "Polaris is probably pointing the wrong way for me." He shrugged at the offhanded lie (not exactly a lie, though - Polaris was often considered as the 'guiding star' in Asian astrology), but was quick to turn that indifference into something else with a slight apologetic hint on his blank face. "Sorry about the mix-up - I heard about you more than the other Gryffindor ghost, yeah." His sour opinion towards her was thrown out of his mind when she began to recount about the Battle at Hogwarts. She was involved in that wizarding war - and died because of it? He cringed a little at the sight of the bite wound on her neck, though (and oh, blood would appear silvery in ghost mode, huh). "The whole thing about Hogwarts war and Harry Potter's epic is what I've been learning in History of Magic lately," he started off, watching the ghost with unblinking, curious eyes. "I don't mind paying your grave a visit, in exchange to hear more about your story - the Second Wizarding War, and your time in Hogwarts leading to the Hogwarts battle. All I've been learning were only about Harry Potter, and Voldemort." The mention of Myrtle made Miyu feeling salty once more, and he rolled his eyes at her. "If she's here the whole school would know," he scoffed, picking up the rag from the wet floor. (It felt disgusting.) "I wanted to shorten this mop on my head, but my mum refused to let me get a haircut. Something along the lines of me looking better with long hair." He shook his head. "I don't know what the heck she's thinking - or any women, anyway. You all are really... complicated." Lavender Brown
