Donald had not really spent much time with Miles, his pet owl, since starting his third year in Hogwarts and he could tell that the barn owl was starting to get upset over it. The bird kept trying to aim to drop his letters into his cereal, or porridge or mug of tea. Whichever the bird thought would be worst. It was very irritating to have his letters or parcels dunked into his food, both because he had to magically dry his parcels and letters ad that he was not too sure that it was entirely healthy to eat his breakfast after his letters and parcels had been swimming in them.
Still hopefully his owl would not be too annoyed at him now that the 13 year old would be spending some time with him. The Ravenclaw boy entered the East Wing where he decided to summon his pet owl. He did consider doing it in the common room but balked at the idea since he wasn’t entirely sure that his owl would not cause a ruckus in revenge for being ignored.
He did wonder if his ever grumpy owl would come into the room to visit him or would decide to sulk. As it was his pet fly into the window and circled Donnie for a while before sitting on the chandelier above him. The Welsh wizard looked up to his pet ”Hey Miles....” he said to the owl, before digging out some owl treats from his robes. ”...I got some treats for you. I am sorry for not visiting you much this year. I will do a lot better now. I should have tried harder and I ap.....ow” Perhaps being annoyed by his owner’s over apologising Miles landed on his shoulder and dug his talons into his shoulders. Although not too viciously as he didn’t want to do his owner any serious damage. Miles did it just hard enough to cause a bit of pain.
”Miles” Don said in some annoyance. However he fed him some of the treats. ”You okay now?” he asked him, despite his aching shoulder. Miles hooted to say that he was. ”Good” he said with a small smile on his face. The owl hooted again and indicated that it would like more treats. ”I’ve already given you some Miles. I don’t want to over feed you.” the pale skinned Ravenclaw said to his pet with a small shake of his head.
Miles hooted in annoyance at Donald and flew off at some speed. Unfortunately his owl nearly flew into someone. ”LOOK OUT!” exclaimed the young lad, both to his pet and to the person who was directly in his pet’s flight path.
