Hogsmeade really was a beautiful place in the winter. Especially as it was Christmas time. The Christmas decorations were up and the light snowfall of the previous night had left everything dusted in white. The insides of shops looked inviting, too - roaring fires and laughing people. It was a wonderful time of the year, and the pre-Christmas excitement was finally catching up to her - albeit a bit late. The break had put her in a good mood - OWL year was a little stressful, even if she'd stayed ahead of the classwork. Seeing her sisters again made it all a lot easier to deal with somehow.
She was dressed in a rather oversized cheesy Christmas sweater that Elle had given her the year before, a blue beanie that covered her ears, skinny jeans and a pair of fluffy outdoor uggboots. She wasn't exactly in the most fashionable of clothes, but she was exceptionally comfortable, and that was enough for her. As the Slytherin passed Honeydukes she paused, scrunching her nose up in an adorable frown. She didn't eat sweets all that often - ballet and gym didn't exactly allow for it. But it was Christmas, and surely a few lollies couldn't hurt, right? Decision made, Lucy floated into the store with a smile, running her fingers across the bars of chocolate while she thought about exactly what she wanted. Her hips swayed slightly as she wandered through the store, keeping up with the festive music that the store was playing.
Eventually she settled on two gingerbread men that linked arms and danced whenever someone said 'Christmas', a lollipop and a bright orange ball of something sweet - she wasn't entirely sure what, but the cashier said it was good. As she waltzed towards the cold outdoors again, Lucy's bouncy walk incorporated a happy spin in time with the music, and then one more as she neared the door. Reaching the door, she sent a 'Merry Christmas' and thank-you smile towards the cashier before stepping out of the store. The catchy tune still playing in her head, Lucy went up on her toes for another spin, grinning. Unfortunately, her third turn was badly timed and a person happened to walk right into her path at that moment. Lucy went crashing towards the ground, the graceful dancer losing her balance. "Shit, damnit!" She squeaked as she fell, her recently bought bag of sweets tumbling from her hand as she attempted to catch herself. Hopefully the other party was more lucky than her - and hopefully they had better stability.
