APPEARANCE
Played by Daisy Ridley (link)
DESCRIPTION: Addy is always seen with her hair drawn back from her face and flawlessly done lips. He gaze is direct and open, often making people uncomfortable with her scrutinizing stare. Not one for hiding how she feels, Addy will show & tell you directly with her body language and facial expressions. Her personality is forceful and it shows in how she moves - though she isn't an unkind or unfriendly individual, people are often intimidated by her mastery of herself. Of average height for a woman, she dresses in a variety of styles, but they always seem to suit her well - from yoga clothing to her most typical shirt, jeans and combat boots. And she's never seen without a scuffed jacket. Even in an evening gown...
PERSONALITY
POSITIVE TRAITS: Tough, fearless, very capable of handling herself thank you, takes nobody's crap, forms strong connections with people, relatively intuitive and empathetic, excellent flier, full of sass, lipstick wizard, independent, strong moral compass.
NEGATIVE TRAITS: Brash, blunt, nosy, reckless, demanding, likes her own way, takes retribution for perceived injustice into her own hands, honourable to a fault, won't lie, gets attached to people quickly, occasionally needy for attention and approval, failing makes her very anxious.
LIKES: Her family (including her dog), Quidditch, snuggling with anyone she cares about (platonic snuggles, romantic snuggles, Addy is all about the skinship), lipstick (she has a lot ok), practical shoes, yoga, rock climbing, zip lines, JUSTICE, good triumphing over evil, when problems are easily solved.
DISLIKES: High heels, people who malign her family, bullies, being bored, bedtime (Addy is an insomniac), when she runs out of coffee, snow, hail, sleet, social rituals.
HOBBIES: Yoga, rock climbing, cooking, exploring, chasing adrenaline (in theory, tiring out would help her sleep...), generally not sitting still, practicing Quidditch, learning languages (Addy is currently trilingual with English, French and Italian).
GENERAL PERSONALITY:
Addy has a very large personality and a presence to match. Everything about her seems so very brightly lit, as though her bones themselves were glowing with energy and she were vibrating with the sheer amount of it. This forceful personality expresses itself even in quiet moments, from when she's focusing intently on her flying or other activities, to arguing with others, to time spent with her family and friends. It can sometimes be difficult for people to handle her intensity, but Addy attaches herself to people fairly quickly and devotes herself even faster, (something that could possibly bite her in the back some day) making those lucky (?) people be hard put to push her away. Eventually she breaks down many people's defenses. Fairly quick to judge and with a relatively black-and-white viewpoint at this point in her young life, Addy has a lot to learn about the world. She's inherited a romantic optimism and stark viewpoint on the world's politics from her father, but at least she's a little bit more cautious. Just a little. Addy is certainly a whirlwind of a character, make no mistake!

Character History:
Adelaide Stark was born to an optimist and a pessimist. With parentage like that, you'd think she'd average out around the middle - but no, Adelaide was very much like her dad, only intensified. From a young age she was demanding the whys and wherefores of life, parroting Julius' ideals about society with great conviction and generally tiring out her poor, quiet mother.
Cosima De Palma Stark, an Italian halfblood of good standing, had originally been set to marry someone of her family's choosing in the British Ministry, but he was unfortunately lost to the Death Eater activity in the first Wizarding war. Somehow - nobody is quite sure how - she ended up choosing Julius instead, and their marriage was a very successful one, despite her quiet and mistrustful nature and his louder, romanticizing one. Or perhaps that was the reason it worked. Regardless, they both loved their only daughter very dearly, and raised her together and separately. Cosima insisted she learn languages, focus on the practical arts, and also learn social manners, while Julius taught her about history and literature. Addy brought the incessant energy to the table all on her own.
Unfortunately, this idyllic picture was disrupted somewhat when Cosima was discovered to have contracted cancer . This was a very real disease, not easily romanticized, and it brought Addy and Julius harshly into reality. Cosima progressed very rapidly over a month, and ten days after Julius' 40th birthday she passed away in the hospital. Julius was distraught, and Addy strangely furious at the world which had no justice in it and didn't allow nice people to live. The two returned to their lives rather subdued, with Julius lost without his wife and Addy uncertain how to live without a mother. Her insomnia originates from about this time. Addy and Julius muddled along, with the help of close relatives, until Addy received her Hogwarts letter and was bundled off to Hogwarts to the relief of both sides.
Her time under the Sorting Hat was about average. It didn't blurt out the House she was suited for instantly, nor did it take a long time to consider it. It merely asked Addy a couple of questions and bundled her off to the house of lions, just two years after Harry Potter had done so. While this was rather a good premise for a fantasy book (senpai, notice me!), Addy didn't interact with the Trio in her first year, instead rather miffed that the Dementors were along. She gave them a wide berth, and set about making her own friends. Once she returned from Hogwarts, the relationship between herself and her dad had returned to something resembling normalcy, and they could talk about her mother again easily. They became very close in that time, and closer still each summer after school.
In classes, Addy was either focusing intently on the prize, or focusing intently on not taking notes - but whatever she did, there was determination behind it. She made few close friends, as many found her rather too forceful for her liking, and learned a lot about human nature in her years at school: what was and was not appropriate, how people reacted to things. Her third year contained Umbridge; Addy got a lot of detention... and then her fifth year contained the Carrows, who were worse. Addy had never been in the DA, but she found herself hiding in the RoR soon enough because of her sharp tongue and propensity to speak her mind. Her insomnia worsened; she frequently snuck out to the Owlery to both test herself against the dictators running the school and to make sure that her father was alright.
After the chaos of the battle, Addy was relieved to see that things were completed as they should be - the evil punished, the good winning. Except, it wasn't quite how she'd envisioned. The good had lost many, and there was still a lot of work to do to clean up the nation. Addy returned home unusually quiet, and refused to talk politics with her father for a few months.
She didn't know precisely what she wanted to do with her life. She dabbled in her last two years at Hogwarts, but nothing in particular stuck - except for Quidditch. That, she practiced as often and as hard as she could, and her efforts paid off - she was scouted out of Hogwarts to play reserves for Puddlemere. During the year that she was on the reserve team, Addy lived, slept, and breathed Quidditch, except friends. She became very attached to her fellow trainees, and a bit insulated from what was happening in reality. She got so close with one of them, in fact, that she fancied herself in love with the other Chaser trainee, and was on the verge of asking the woman to go out with her when werewolves were found to be living in the Forbidden Forest, October 2001. The vitriolic response of the woman to the presence of such "disgusting beasts" near the "home of our future" set Addy off, and she gave the other woman the telling-off of her life. Addy's one time crush quit the team as a result, and Addy was promoted to Chaser a few months later - though warned to hold her tongue in front of the press if she could. (She can't. It's a good thing she's good at Quidditch). She finally started talking politics with her dad again.
The last few years have been relatively stable for her. She's had a couple romantic flings, but nothing serious, and adopted a large Bernese Mountain Dog named Finn. Recently, she's been worried about her dad - having a front row seat to what's been going on in the Wizengamot (though never all the details, as Julius is quite honorable) as her aunt and uncle advised him to look deeper into what they've been doing behind his back. All of this culminated in her father being put in St Mungo's in an attack, and Addy is worried sick...
