DESCRIPTION: While Parvati Patil might have had the title of prettiest girl in their year, Lavender wasn't far behind with her ash blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. They're all a thing of the past now that Lavender's passed on from the realm of the living. A crown of long curls still tops her head but they're silvery now. Much to her disappointment her outfit is always the same, drab Gryffindor robes,a scarlet and gold headband and Merlin, that ugly striped tie. Her appearance has remained unchanged for the past five years and includes a wound to the side of her neck marring what was perfect skin in life.

GENERAL PERSONALITY: Lavender was always known to be a silly girl who had a disdain for serious things. Not much has changed in death. She grew sour and resentful of her loss of life and it will occasionally show through angry outbursts and biting comments as she spends her days floating through the castle. Like when she was alive Lavender is still fond of fashion, divination and charms and can often be found observing classes or antagonizing moaning myrtle. She's been known to hurt some feelings when she criticizes outfit choices of those with no sense of style or who don't put care into their appearance.

Character History: Lavender Brown was the spoiled only child of a well to do family. While they weren't rich she never wanted for anything at all. Whatever her silly little heart could possibly desire, her parents made sure she got. From an early age Lavender had a fondness for frilly pink things and adorable animals, raising a pair of rabbits. Her childhood was one of frivolity and comfort.

On September 1st, 1991 Lavender joined the fresh faced eleven year olds as they boarded the Hogwarts Express and set off to start their magical education. She was the very first Gryffindor sorted, to the cheers of the table underneath scarlet and gold banners. There she became fast friends with Parvati Patil and quickly established herself as Queen Lioness. While Hermione was the brainy witch of Gryffindor, Lavender was pretty and popular. She made friends easy, others drawn to her fun and bubbly personality.

During her time at Hogwarts, Lavender proved her bravery by joining up with Dumbledore's Army with Parvati, Padma and Dean. Eventually Seamus would join the fold. In her sixth year she had a brief fling with Ron Weasley and when that ended, started dating Seamus. The two thought they were soulmates and would be together forever.

Fate didn't like that plan and during her seventh year, Lavender remained loyal to Dumbledore's Army, eventually going into hiding in the Room of Requirement during the Death Eater's reign at the school. When Harry returned she chose to fight with him against the Death Eaters. She dueled valiantly and ferociously. Eventually a Death Eater managed to disarm her and she attacked him bodily, slamming into him and clawing, punching and kicking until he backed and fell over a balcony railing, taking Lavender down with him.

She survived the fall, landing hard on her back, but did not survive Fernir Greyback's attack. He was on her moments after she hit the ground, his teeth sinking into her neck and tearing away her flesh. Hermione Granger blasted him away but moved on to accomplish what the Golden Trio came to do. A bleeding Lavender was soon found by Seamus, her Gryffindor prince. Even though Greyback wasn't transformed that night his bite was fatal. Lavender bled to death in the Irish wizard's arms, her final words a proclamation of love for him.

Lavender was very unhappy about her death, she felt it was unfair, that she was too young and should have had an entire life out in front of her. Her anger rendered her unable to move on, cursed to forever mull around the land of the living without actually belonging there anymore, unable to be at peace.

She hovered around Seamus' life for awhile but eventually it became too painful to see him living his life (including dating) without her. Lonely and bitter, Lavender returned to haunt the halls of Hogwarts, making catty remarks and arguing with Moaning Myrtle. When she's feeling particularly spiteful she'll float off and bother her former friends or The Golden Trio who she holds partially responsible for her death, having left her to bleed alone after the vicious attack by Greyback. More often than she'd like to admit the ghost of Lavender Brown, former Gryffindor Princess, can be found sobbing openly, mourning the life she never got to live.
