DESCRIPTION:Luna is a waif of a woman with wispy, wind blown blonde hair that spills down her back in carefree waves. She has large blue eyes lined with long lashes and topped with faint eyebrows giving her a look of permanent surprise. Luna often appears lost in a daze as she drifts from place to place, off in her own little world of nargles and wrackspurts

Character History:Luna Lovegood was born to two doting parents and enjoyed a comfortable childhood filled with tales of fantastical creatures, even by wizarding standards. Her father instilled in her a respect for creatures and her mother a thirst for knowledge.

When Luna was nine she witnessed an unfortunate accident. Her mother was experimenting on a spell that backfired, killing her. Luna felt sad about her mother's death but didn't let it damper her spirits, sure that she would see her mother again after death. At eleven Luna was accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She was sorted into Ravenclaw due to her wit.

Luna did not make friends easily and was often teased by her classmates who would steal her belongings and dubbed her "Loony" Lovegood. She did manage to befriend Ginny Weasley and in her fourth year grew close to the Golden Trio. When Harry formed Dumbledore's Army she was one of the first to sign up. There she learned things such as shield charms and, remembering her mother, was able to conjure a corporeal patronus in the form of a hare. When Harry, Ron and Hermione went off to rescue Sirius Black from the Department of Mysteries Luna, along with Ginny and Neville, went with them. She fought bravely against the Death Eaters and thanks to Harry's DA Lesson, came out of it fairly unscathed.

In her fifth year Luna earned an O in Transfiguration, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Arthimancy, and Potions. At the end of the school year Death Eaters invaded the castle and Luna along with Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville and Ginny fought along Hogwarts Professors and the Order.

In her sixth year Voldemort had taken over the Ministry. She and her father published Pro-Potter articles in The Quibbler while the trio searched for horcruxes. In retaliation Luna was kidnapped by Death Eaters and held captive in Malfoy Manor with Mister Ollivander, Griphook and Dean Thomas. Luna was rescued thanks to Dobby the House Elf who died for his efforts. After her rescue Luna stayed at Shell Cottage until Harry returned to Hogwarts and was summoned via DA coin to particpate in the Battle of Hogwarts.

After the dust settled and Voldemort was defeated Luna finished her schooling. After graduating the next year she joined the Order of the Phoenix as they worked to stamp out the remaining death eaters. In her spare time she helps her father run The Quibbler and searches high and low for Crumple horned Snorkacks.
