Dominic skipped down the corridor was he wandered the corridors. Hogwarts so so cool and he was still getting use to seeing everything. The school was everything that the young boy imagined it to be. Well, instead it wasn’t flying, it didn’t grow slits and walked around the place randomly, the lake didn’t catch fire whenever you said the word ‘wibble’ and, perhaps most disappointingly of all, there was not dragons that randomly patrolled the corridors setting fire to bananas that were armed and dangerous.
Still that didn’t detract from how awesome Hogwarts was. Right now the strange blonde haired boy was trying to find some hidden passage way. Every so often he would stop skipping and take out his wand and randomly tap bricks, prod armoured suits or swish at paintings to see if they did anything but nothing really happened. Still he would not let something like that get him down. Half the run was the searching and the tapping and the swiping and the swishing. The Hufflepuff was certain that at very least he could set fire to something. That would be cool. Of course, if that happened, he would also run away very fast indeed before he could get into trouble for it.
The 11 year old stopped his skipping once again, his time to probe his wand into a nook to see if that had anything. He probed and prodding but nothing happened. Maybe he could step instead the cranny to see if that worked bit nothing . However he did hear some footsteps coming his way. Feeling that he was fairly well hidden Dom waited until the prefect time and then leapt out from his impromptu hiding place ”BOO” he shouted as loudly as he could to the poor, unsuspecting victim. Of course the 1st year meant nothing by it. It was just all harmless fun to the high-spirited youngster.

This was Cassidy's most absolute favorite time of the year. While most people tended to migrate indoors when the days grew shorter and the weather colder, Cassidy lived for the chill in the air and the faint smell of wood smoke that seemed to permeate every corner of the Earth around this time every year. She spent many November days atop the Astronomy tower, bundled happily against the wind and just watching the Forbidden Forest as it transitioned from green to yellows to brown. Of course, the reliving of certain pleasant memories atop the Astronomy tower kept her sticking around just a little while longer, too.
Cassidy was coming down from one of these trips now, figuring she better get some sort of studying in today, at some point, lest she waste the entire day. As she came down the corridors, the tip of her nose was red and her fingers were icy, but she was smiling. She would never quite get over how beautiful this castle was, she realized now going into her seventh year there. Straight from a fairy tale.
Unfortunately, fairy tales weren't all fantastic castles and beautiful princesses - darker things existed there, too. Shadows. Oh, and ghosts.
The ghosts of Hogwarts made Cassidy a little uncomfortable, always had. She was uncomfortable with the concept of death and they were a mighty strange reminder. Cassidy was also uncomfortable with little boys pretending to be ghosts and jumping out of corners at her, scaring the dickens out of her. A little blonde boy jumped into her path and shouted at her, causing Cassidy to scream and fall right on her bum.
"Oh, bloody hell!" She grumbled, blinking up at her tormentor. Not a ghost at all - just a little boy. She pushed herself up off the ground with a huff, dusting herself off. She glared down at the young Hufflepuff. There were rare times when Cassidy was glad for the reputation of Slytherins, like now, hoping to intimidate an apology out of this boy. "Think you're funny, do you?"

Dominic burst out laughing when the older girl screamed and laughed even harder when she landed on his backside. He pointed and laughed so uncontrollably that he had to hold onto the wall just to keep his balance. ”Oooh ooh ooh you fell on on your bum and and and you scream like a a a girl” he said rather excitedly. It was clear the blonde haired lad thought he was hilarious. Girls are sooo easy to scare he thought to himself. Even older girls, to Dom’s mind, seemed to be more fragile than boys when it came to being scared or anything. That was, apart from his twin sister, but she was an unique case in his opinion. As the older lady pulled herself up to full height there was a moment of hesitation in the young Hufflepuff’s overall demeanour. She was a lot taller than he was and she looked cross. But the image of her falling back on his bottom soon came back to the 11 year old causing his to start giggling all over again. ”I I I got you sooooo good” he said to her teasingly. Jumping about from toe to toe a bit. The first year had heard about the reputations of Slytherins, of course he had, but it didn’t really faze him. He was just too energised by his successful little prank and it didn’t really register that this older girl could be a possible threat to him. It didn’t occur to him that he would probably be better off apologising to the girl for making her fall over and scaring her so much. When Cassidy Bradshaw asked if he thought he was funny he nodded vigorously with a proud grin on his face. ”Yep I I know that that I am funny...” he stuttered slightly although not out of any fear. ”Like when I I I made you fall on your bum. That was so funnnnny.” again the Hufflepuff burst into fits of giggles. |

"I am a girl, genius," Cassidy said, crossing her arms. Of course she screamed like one! What was she supposed to do around creepy little boys - giggle, like he was doing? The sound grated on Cassidy's nerves. She wasn't particularly fond of children; they were so immature. She was still pretty much a child herself, but she was quickly trying to get over that. She didn't need to spend any time around incorrigible little boys...but she also just couldn't let him get away with what he did. Not when he just kept on laughing at her.
Cassidy rolled her eyes at the hyperactive little Hufflepuff when he answered her rhetorical question. He really needed to learn his place; as both his elder and a proud Slytherin, Cassidy was practically obligated to show him to it. But what to do? She wouldn't hit him, of course, probably wouldn't even hex him unless he really, really got under her skin. The threat to tell on him to his prefect was on the tip of her tongue...but tattling felt too much like something a first year would do. No, she was more resourceful than that.
"You're not funny, or even scary. I could show you things in this castle that would send you crying for your mum," she spoke venomously, almost like it was a challenge.

Dominic was still grinning like a Cheshire cat when Cassidy crossed her arms and told him she was a girl. ”Well I I I can see that but but but you still screamed like one” he said pointedly while nodding. He did feel a bit, ever so slightly, offended by the sarcastic genius comment but it decided to let that slip by. The last thing he 11 year old wanted to do was to show himself as a baby in front of an older student.
The Hufflepuff lad shrugged when the Slytherin said he wasn’t funny or even scary ”Well...I found myself funny and I certainly did scare you.” he said with a massive smirk on his face clearly enjoying himself and having a bit of fun. Maybe it was not one of the wisest idea for the little boy to push this issue too much. The young lady was clearly getting wound up by his immaturity but he was too immature to realise that.
When the older girl said that she could show him things that would send him crying for his mam, his eyes lit up in excitement ”Oooh ooh ooh do you like whhaat?” he said practically bouncing up and down eagerly. ”Are their torture chambers full of of of cucumbers that that sing off key? Or or or or skeletons that that jump out at you and and start doing the the dance from the birdie song?... “ he asked in overexcited earnestly. ”....ooh ooh ooh or or or is it some slugs that that have a human face and and say ‘put down that carrot you know what happened last time you handled a carrot. I don’t want to go to A&E again.’ is it?” the little boy was getting more and more excited about what she could show him.

Jeez, was Cassidy glad she didn't have any little brothers, just big ones. She'd probably be grounded forever if she had to deal with this on a daily basis. Had first years always been so annoying? Cassidy didn't remember ever being this annoying. It must just be a Hufflepuff thing...Cassidy didn't particularly like boiling things down to house stereotypes - but in Slytherin, the underclassmen respected their elders. Most of the time, anyway.
Cassidy rolled her eyes when the boy insisted he just scared her so bad and he was just so funny. "You didn't scare me, you just startled me. What're you creeping around for, anyway? Shouldn't you be studying or something?" Something Cassidy should probably be doing, too...but that wasn't the point. She was on her way to do just that when this little boy decided to interrupt her.
Cassidy tried to get him back, to put a little fear in him - but apparently, she just pushed him right off the deep end. Cassidy's eyes grew wider and wider as the boy went into some sort of frenzied excitement, speaking what sounded like a bunch of gibberish to her. What the heck was he on about? Honestly...it was kind of adorable. Stuff only a child would come up with and it was kind of charming. But Cassidy would never, ever let him know that, and she hid the tiny smile on her face beautifully with a scowl. "Wow - you are actually crazy. Did you scare all your friends off, so you've got to around and bother random people now?" She was poking at him, just a bit. Cassidy wouldn't call herself a bully, but she wouldn't say she'd never bullied anyone, either.
