Pubs weren't usually for children, but this particular one saw many young faces pass through its walls - and it really wasn't so bad a place, during the daytime especially. There were a couple of kids scattered about the place when Daisy entered, sitting with their families or a parent at various tables throughout the establishment. Those faces put this particular young girl's mind a bit more at ease - she was trying her best to get acclimated to this new world, but she still found wizards and witches as a whole a bit intimidating.
But Daisy was surely racking up her witch points. She had her very own wand now, safely tucked away at home until she could use it at school next year. She'd been to Diagon Alley several times, and even Hogsmeade once - all trough this very pub. The Leaky Cauldron was actually starting to feel sort of homey to Daisy - armed safely with the knowledge that her mum was just across the street waiting for her, of course. She'd even come in alone today, no Rose to follow behind this time.
When Daisy sat at home brainstorming how she could get better used to her newfound world, plants and animals came to mind - as they often did. It wasn't the plants and animals themselves this time, though, that set off a spark of an idea in Daisy's brain. How did she learn so much about those plants and animals she so adored? Why, by observing them - of course. Of course! She could go observe the witches and wizards, and eventually, maybe, they wouldn't seem so strange to her.
Her mum took some convincing, but eventually, she acquiesced to her daughter's strange request. Rose was off playing with a friend and Daisy decided she could do this alone; she needed to. Daisy was very scared that she was going to get separated from her sister next year at Hogwarts, so she might as well try to get used to that right now, as well. So into the pub she went, alone, armed with a little pouch of coins and a sketchpad. She might head down Diagon Alley eventually, but right now, the Leaky Cauldron was feeling awfully cozy. She ordered a bottle of pumpkin juice (she was a big fan of this stuff already) and settled herself in a comfy, worn armchair next to the big, roaring fire - contentedly watching the people around her.
