The hospital was starting to feel more and more like a prison lately. The Ministry was constantly poking around for hints of werewolves. Outwardly, Ashley was holding her usual cool persona with practiced Slytherin ease, but inwardly she felt like a spring wound too tight. Uncle Graham was only just barely staying under the radar. And now Addy knew his secret. Not that Ashley expected her to spill that secret, especially given Ashley could turn right around and betray the little serving girl from the pub. (Which she had no intention of doing unless Uncle Graham’s life absolutely depended on it.) It was just that having someone else know about all this made her uncomfortable. Especially with the Ministry breathing down her neck. She had managed to pilfer a little wolfsbane potion, carefully rearranging the logs to cover it up, but next month she would have to do it all over again and security was getting trickier by the day.
Although apparently not tricky enough. Something had been going on down in the pharmacy lately. Ingredients disappearing. Potions not working properly. Eoin might be odd, but he usually ran his ship with an iron fist. For someone to have gotten past him was a bit concerning. Normally Ashley wasn’t one to go poking her nose in things that didn’t concern her. However, the hospital was currently her only access to wolfsbane potion given how bloody expensive the stuff was. And if that was in danger… Well, suffice it to say she would feel better knowing what the hell was going on.
So when she somehow ended up with part of an afternoon free of patients, Ashley made her way down to the pharmacy to do some sleuthing. She pushed the door open to find it apparently empty. “Eoin?” Ashley stepped further inside as her gaze roamed around. "Anyone here?" No sign of the pharmacist. The place seemed completely undefended. It was like throwing a kid into a candy store. There were ingredients around here that could be useful to Uncle Graham and the two werewolves he worked with. And it certainly wouldn’t be the first time Ashley had smuggled out supplies for a werewolf. All she needed was a minute alone to tweak the inventory –
The door opened behind her. Damn. Another time then. Her face was a mask of innocent politeness as she turned to see who was behind her. It wasn’t unusual to find Ashley down here. She was the potions specialist, after all. She dropped by every now and then to pick up some things, and sometimes she even got drafted into being a second pair of potioneering hands if things got particularly swamped. No reason at all for anyone to be suspicious about her presence here. She just had to keep it that way.
Eoin Cavanaugh and also Mali Johar if desired
I wasn't sure if we had decided what floor the pharmacy was on, so I just stuck this here.
