Jasmine couldn't sleep. She was worried about the state of things. The word Death Eater got kicked about pretty frequently and while she wasn't really around when whathisname came into power, the stories were pretty terrifying. Lots of wizarding born students had stories about the second wizarding war and how it affected their family and now that their experiences were turning out to be pretty relevant again, those stories were shared over and over again. As a muggleborn witch with sisters who would be attending Hogwarts next year, it gave her something to worry about. So far they'd been pretty untouched by everything but it was only a matter of time before the dark things were breathing down their necks. In just a few months, she wouldn't be tucked away into the safety of the castle. The danger of the world didn't make her want to hide away, though. It made the young Lioness want to take risks. People were dying, it was in the prophet every other week. Why not enjoy life while you had it?
After about an hour of tossing and turning in her bed, Jasmine gave up. An idea had snuck it's way into her brain and now that she'd given up the fight for sleep it was whispering loudly to her. Why did she have to stay in the castle tonight? Hogsmeade was just a few steps from the castle. It would be daft to go alone, though. Luckily she knew the perfect housemate for the job. Kingsley had an adventurous streak as good as anyone else, she was spunky with a rebellious spirit. They weren't exactly close, but they were teammates and that was good enough. Quidditch bonds were nearly as strong as blood in her opinion. The lanky Gryffindor hauled herself out of bed, pulled on a sweater and pair of jeans. She paused to try and tame down her unruly curls but eventually had to give that up too and slip out of her dorm room and down to Kingsley's year.
She wasn't very graceful, knocking her hip on someone's bedside table as she crept through the door. The sixth year froze and watched for signs of stirring but was able to breathe a sigh of relief when the girl only shifted and continued to sleep on. Bloody furniture. Bloody the fact she was so tall. Jas was all lanky arms, legs for days a long torso. It was a lot of body to keep track of and occasionally it unintentionally collided with things. Anyway, she tiptoed over to Kingsley's bed and clamped a hand over her mouth to muffle any sound that suddenly being woken up would startle out of her. "Oi!" she stage whispered, leaning so close that one of her curls tickled the girl's cheek. "Kingsley. Wake up." When the girl's eyes shot open, Jas put a finger to her lips to indicate that she should be quiet before peeling the hand away from the younger lion's mouth. "Wanna go to Hogsmeade? I bet it's brilliant at night, yeah?" She even had a plan.
