As a former Gryffindor she is an incredibly passionate person especially when it comes to things like perceived unfairness.
Current Politics
How was your character affected by the reign of Lord Voldemort?
Her main concern is the remnants of his army of blood purists and maniacs. The more she reads about death eaters attacking and being sighted at random the more motivated she is to do well at her job. She's a defender of the 'little guy' and hearing about people being victimized makes her blood boil, especially since some have a proclivity towards children. Knowing there are people out there like Lord Voldemort (even though he has fallen) inspired her to take up a ministry position and join the effort to snuff out his lackeys once and for all.
Where does your character stand with the Omega vs Proteger?
A leopard can't change their spots. She doesn't trust a death eater, former or present, farther than she can throw them. (Don't let her size fool you, she could probably throw them a good foot or so.)
What are your character's thoughts on the present Centaur revolt at Hogwarts?
Penny is outraged the Ministry has let it progress so far and hopes that the recent attacks will bring about a swift solution.

Parents: Colin and Nora Fletcher
Siblings: None
Partner: None
Children: None
Other Notable Family: None
Family History:
Nora was a beauty queen born in Georgia and raised in the mindset of Southern Hospitality. Her mother valued femininity, made sweet tea and said things like 'bless your heart'. She was raised to do things like cook and sew and was told that sweat and was unbecoming on a woman. (Southern women don't sweat anyway, they glisten.) As she grew older she grew frustrated with the stifling confines of her upbringing. She felt like it was sexist and keeping her from her full potential. At the age of 18 she left home and didn't look back, supporting herself through various odd jobs.
One such odd job was as a tour guide through historical Savannah, GA. On one of her tours she met a charming English man on holiday. After the tour was over, he asked her to dinner and Nora accepted. It was the start of a beautiful but occasionally strained long distance relationship. After about a year, Nora moved to be with Colin who worked as a police officer in London. They tried to start a family for many years and suffered many miscarriages. Finally, one pregnancy persisted and their darling daughter Penelope was born.
Character
Character History:
Penny was a miracle baby in her parents eyes. After a long, arduous and often heart breaking process they managed to start a very small family. One child was enough for them and they showered her with love. Because of her mother's rather restrictive upbringing they indulged Penny in whatever she wanted to do. Penny was a Daddy's girl and was often happy to spend the day with him, covered in grease and handing him tools to work on his car. She idolized her father and was proud of his occupation. Because of this idolization she developed a protective streak and was very cognizant of unfairness and injustice.
Penny was a child who was quick to argue and even quicker to settle arguments with her fists, especially when it involved defending a bullied child. Her proclivity for altercation coupled with her blunt and outspoken nature made it difficult for her to keep friends. Instead of wallowing in loneliness she learned to enjoy solitude and develop her Independence.
On her eleventh birthday a witch arrived on her door step and inducted her into the world of magic. She was skeptical at first, magic couldn't possibly exist. It was illogical. She'd spent her whole life believing quite the opposite. Much to her delight, everything the witch said was true and her life was changed forever.
Her brashness earned her a spot in Gryffindor where she thrived. Her quarrelsome nature settled a bit with age and she started to flourish socially. Around her third year she realized she wanted to follow in her father's footsteps and become the wizarding equivilant of a police officer: an auror. Penny did decently in school, her strengths being practical subjects in magic. She found subjects like arithmancy, astronomy and divination to be frivilous, not worth her time and could muster up little motivation for them. When she had her career counseling session and learned that she would need a NEWT in potions to pursue her goal, she worked noon and night to improve her potion making. To study for the subject she would often neglect her friends she managed to make and skip things like trips to Hogsmeade and occasionally meals. In the end her hard work paid off and she scraped a NEWT from the subject along with a handful of others.
Once graduated from Hogwarts, Penny was accepted into the auror training program.
First Instance of Magic:
As a child, Penny was afraid of the dark. Terrified, even. One particularly stormy night her parents were away and she was left in the care of an unfamiliar babysitter. The storm managed to knock the power out and left Penny in darkness. The child started to panic and as her anxiety rose, the lights in the room began to flicker on. Just that room, though, the rest of the house remained in dark. The muggles of course did not recognize this as a show of magic and thought it was a weird abnormality in the electrical grid.
What would your character see in the Mirror of Erised?
Herself as head of the Auror department and also in possesion of a cheesecake that respawns when the last piece is served.
What are your character's future aspirations?
To become a full fledged auror and bring the remaining death eaters to justice. She does believe Azkaban is too good for them and would like to see them in the ground.
