Ezra wasn't sure exactly how many people knew what he considered the Ministry's Best Kept Secret - but he assumed not many, given how many people he didn't run into when he stole away to the place. The Department of Magical Games and Sports by far had the best break room in the whole building - better snacks, better tea, better everything - and really, Ezra didn't know if he so much minded keeping that his little secret. He didn't even tell any of the other Aurors. The DMGS was rather small - smaller than the gargantuan DMLE at any rate - so Ezra often even had the room to himself. It was his little work paradise.
Of course, not everything about it was perfect (was there anything truly perfect at the Ministry? No. The answer is no, not by a long shot). It was a terrible place for a nap, for one thing. The department was situated in a way that a lot of non-departmental foot traffic passed by their break room, and Ezra couldn't sleep with all that noise (he also couldn't get caught sleeping on the job, even if was 'on break'). There were other, better places for him to nap when the need came up - he was just here for the tea and biscuits. He was sat at the break room table now, feet propped up in another chair, with a cuppa and a tin of biscuits open in front of him. He munched away, browsing the Prophet and enjoying the calm. He was turned so he was framed in the doorway, and he looked up every so often to nod and smile at people as they passed, to make it look like he had every right to be there. One such person appeared in the doorway, and Ezra grinned, calling out an, "Hello!" to @shea. He very vaguely recognized the man, and anyone anywhere near close to Ezra's age was an open target for his friendship. If he didn't know them, he made it his point to rectify that posthaste.

Shea was an odd fellow. He didn't like eating lunch in the same place every day. Every three days he was at his desk doing paperwork as he ate his sandwich or salad there. But the other days he picked random floors and random break room to eat in. He didn't like people assuming it was okay to just talk to him and be friendly. Even if he was trying to be more sociable now. Even if he had set up lunch with the kid training in the Department of Mysteries every Monday he still didn't feel like it was enough.
Today, Shea had chosen The Department of Magical Games and Sports. It was usually very empty and it was one of his favorite spots to hide away in. Upon entering the room Shea was not prepared for a voice to greet him. He also tried really hard not to make a noise of annoyance. "Hi," shea said, slightly confused by the state. He had made it a habit of learning faces and the floors the department they belong to. It was more of a way of avoiding people he didn't want to exactly converse with. He pushed the door open just enough to look out it before walking back into the room.He was checking that he hadn't made himself all lost and on a different floor than he had planned on. Not that he didn't want to talk to the other man. He just knew he was talkative. Something Shea was far from. "I could have sworn that you worked in another department." He tried to say in a joke like tone but it was so clear how painful it was for him to try. Shea walked into the room and took a seat at the table, making sure it wasn't the chair with the other man's feet on them. He propped his lunch on the table and unwrapped his sandwich.

The young man that entered the break room seemed just a bit confused by Ezra's appearance there, something that made Ezra chuckle. Darn, he'd been caught out. He laughed harder when the man actually looked back out into the hallway, supposedly in an attempt to affirm that he wasn't going mad. Ezra watched him with amusement, giving him a moment to work it out on his own before stepping in and having to sell himself and his Secret out. The man eventually joked it off, in an odd sort of voice but really any attempt at all at humor was bound to make Ezra laugh, and laugh again he did. "You caught me. Auror. They have nice tea up here." He held his teacup up to indicate the delicious tea. He pointed a finger at the man, consideration momentarily clouding his happy features. "Though you might already know that. You're an...Unspeakable, right? Wait, wait, don't tell me!" Ezra had his own joke, of course, and his own laughter to go with it.
The man moved in to sit, an indication to Ezra that he was in for the long haul. Ezra really had no concept that sometimes people just wanted a little space and time to themselves - obviously, if they were presenting themselves around others, they wanted to talk right? Ezra operated in that manner, at least. He smiled over at the other man, pushing the biscuit tin halfway across the table toward him. "Biscuit? I'm Ezra, by the way. I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I've ever caught your name?"

Aurors. Shea hated Aurors. Most of them were full of themselves and thought they were too good to converse with the rest of the ministry. Not that he minded them not talking to him but they occasionally made it extremely hard to work with if it were needed. Shea looked at the man oddly when he laughed at what he said. He wasn't funny. No one ever thought he was funny besides his mum and he personally didn't think she counted. He believed she didn't h ave much of a choice when it came to liking him. The werewolf nodded his head. It was an action that he picked up on doing when others were speaking to him. It allowed them to know he was listening without him being forced to reply but then Ezra made his own joke. Which, admittedly, was funny. Sure he's heard it more than a few times. The corners of shea's lips turned up into a smile a bit as he took a bit of his food.
He was realising that he should consider speaking now he took a sip of a water to clear his throat. "No thank you," he declined the biscuit. He never took food from strangers or people he didn't know very well. Why that was, he wasn't exactly sure. "Sorry, name's Shea. Nice to meet you Ezra" He took another bit of his food. What do people usually talk about? he thought to himself. "So Auror. Must be fun," he spoke without too much thinking. Yet, work was probably the most interesting thing he could have to talk about. Even if he couldn't say much on his part.

The other Ministry worker gave Ezra an odd look when Ezra laughed. Did the man think he was making fun of him? That wasn't Ezra's intention at all. In his world, every moment as a chance to laugh or make someone laugh. Moments like these, anyway. Ezra had special time set away to be serious - in the midst of his work, and when he meditated - every other moment was just a chance. He quieted down after making his own joke and tried just smiling at the other worker in an effort to make him more comfortable. He didn't want to scare the poor guy away - Ezra knew that, admittedly, he was a lot to handle sometimes. It seemed to work, though, as the man stayed, tucked into his lunch, and even smiled a little bit.
Ezra was content to give the man time to eat. Just his name, that's all he needed, and then he could mull over his tea while his new friend ate his lunch. "It's nice to officially meet you, too, Shea," he smiled with a nod. After that, he took a nice, long sip of tea - only to be surprised at Shea's speaking up. Ezra put his cup down and nodded again. "Oh yeah, loads. It challenges all angles of me - mentality, physically. That's why I like it." He paused and tilted his head at Shea. "I don't suppose you can tell me much about what you do, though I admit I've always been curious what goes on down there. Do you like it well enough?"
