Graham felt strange. After years of living hidden away from society he was making his first big step of return. Thanks to Meg he'd actually managed to get a job. Sure it might be a job that he'd never imagined having but right now he was as proud of it as he was back when he got promoted within the Ministry. Perhaps even prouder. The people working here were good people where the ministry was corrupt. Despite having done more dangerous and important work, he was somewhat nervous. Odd because there truly seemed to be no reason for. Perhaps the only thing he feared was possible communication with other people. What if someone who knew him very well entered the pub? At least he was behind the wall for most of the time. The only times when he got out was to clean the place and tidy it up. One would think that a man who lived on the streets wouldn't mind a messy place. Well one couldn't be more wrong. Graham once was a high class gentleman. Now he was cooking for others and tidying up their mess. He did take his job seriously as he had accepted his place.
To start the day well he'd taken his time to clean himself up. He shaved his beard and tidied his blonde graying hair. There was sadly nothing he could do about the scars that marked his face. He still hated having to look in mirrors which he tried to avoid as his own reflection could ruin his mood. Overal he was quite positive he was willing to try again at life. This was good not only it kept him off the streets but it also brought routine in his life. A reason to get up and get going. Besides it served as a distraction of his ever present paranoia (he saw enemies at every corner of the street).
An order came in and he went right to work, he'd show them his best side today. Graham had always been a hard working man and that side should reawaken once again. Upon finishing his creation he smiled proudly at himself. It had been a while since he had to cook but he still had it. He handed the food to the waiter and took his wand to enter the public side of the pub himself. Using a non-verbal spell he collected the empty glasses and boards which he levitated towards the kitchen. While doing this he couldn't help himself but gaze through the pub. He studied the guests that were present. If an old enemy would find out about him he'd have to quit before he'd bring his innocent coworkers into unnecessary danger.

Akiko had a wonderful day at her shop and she decided to call it a day. She always had the habit of postponing her visit to home as late as she can and today happened to be just another day where she would blatantly try and forget that she is engaged. She apparated to three broomsticks as the Leaky looked a little busy. And luckily for her, the the broomsticks was not that busy. She happily talked to the bartender and got herself a glass of fire whiskey. She needed that stong alcohol on her body to try and forget things, though she vowed herself to never get herself drunk. After all there would be no knight in shining armor for her to help. She twirled the glass in her hand and held it up to take a sip when she noticed a new face.
Akiko was a regular customer to the place and it was not in her behavior to miss people or forget them. So she knew that the person had to be new to the place. Truth be told, the person actually looked a little scary to her with all the scars and he reminded her of Professor Lupin. She idly wondered if the man i n front of her may be a battle scarred person too and decided that it would not look good if she stared at him for long. After all be might take her to be a spy or someone worse. As cheerful as she is, Akiko gave a wave and spoke up "hello sir, you seem to be new here. I'm Akiko a regular customer here" She could hear the waiter snort at her words and said 'oh please, you and I both know that, I come here often. In fact, I'm here everyday but the same can't be siad about you' and glared at the waiter and she could hear the chuckles of the bartender.

Upon scanning the main room of the pub he had noticed a woman was looking his way. Sure he got looks now and then but she was staring a bit too long for his liking. Death Eater. The first thing that shot through his mind. Could she be? She looked young enough to be among the group he never met. Would they have told the younger generation about the traitor? Automatically his hand slit to the pocket where he stored his wand. The very thought of death eaters made him want to be ready for defense may the need come.
He was actually taken aback when he was greeted with a wave. Graham had to let it sink in for a moment that there wasn't going to be a fight. He'd really been away from the reality for too long to realize there were other people than enemies in this world. His had relaxed and fell back to his side again. The woman introduced herself followed by a little theater between her and the other workers. The whole thing softened his deep features. "Good afternoon, m'lady." His words may be a little late. "I'm Graham, a former regular customer now employee," he decided to introduce himself and be honest for once. "However I do not think we have met." But that could be blamed on the fact that Graham always turned to himself when he came here. When he came he used to get drunk and pass out in a room he rented. Not anymore, he decided he'd want to work on himself to make a chance before this whole new creature law madness would pass through. "I hope everything is as you wish."

Akiko saw the small reflex of the man, as he reached into his pockets. She needn't be a genius to figure out that he was reaching for his wand. Anyone else would have been offended by that small thing, but Akiko know better. She knew what it was like to be on edge and expecting danger every other moment. She knew the feeling all too well, as she herself has done it on numerous occasions. War, does that to people, she thought begrudgingly and wondered just how much it might have effected the man in front of her. He looked worn and if his scars were any indication. However, her words seem to have settled him as she saw a some tugging on his face. She gave a smile of her own as he introduced himself. She spoke up, "we indeed have not met. How surprising, but then again it is not considering that I come at random times. Sometimes for lunch, or for dinner or for a drink line today " as she lifted her glass of fire whiskey.
"I hope everything is as you wish."
Akiko gave a nod at his comment and said "as good as this drink can be. " Her expression softened a little as she spoke " but it still does not make the problem go away, like everyone says " Akiko knew that she consumed unhealthy amounts of alcohol during day time, but nothing could talk her down. It was her only way to forget the reality and enjoy herself. Though it usually lasts for some time, but in the end she was still left with her problems. She waved for anther glass and began to ship on it. The bartender usually dissuaded her from drinking too much and Akiko was sure that she would not get another drink after this glass. She looked at Graham and asked " are you married? " The question was out of the blue, but one could see that she was fiddling with her own engagement ring as she asked. Akiko wanted to know what was running in her fiancée's head and a man would be the first choice to ask about it.

Graham gave the woman a small smile when she reasoned why they never met. “That could just be it. I never had my permanent times either,” he said with a nod. Of course he’d mostly been here during the nights where he needed alcohol to get through but there had also been days where he needed alcohol to get through. Now he had a job to keep his mind busy, for which he was very grateful.
Aiko’s words were probably all too familiar for most people. However Graham wouldn’t help but think. “Ironically having a drink here gave me the first step away from my problems,” he said with a thoughtful smile. “I own this job to that little drink and the lady bartender,” he told the woman, unsure why he was sharing this. Perhaps hearing something positive would cheer her up a little. She did seem down which was sad. Young people should full of life and explore the world. Graham wondered what was troubling her mind. Usually bartenders were there to listen to someone’s problem but Graham would gladly help a customer. Or rather another person. He knew how much of a change help or a listening ear could help. And he’d find out sooner than expected. “Huh?” The man blinked at the random question but then he saw her fretting with an engagement ring and things started to make sense. “Well.. Yeah.. sort of… Officially I am,” he ran a hand through his greying blonde hair. Although one could wonder how official it still was since the ministry had his status on ‘Missing; presumed dead’. Wouldn’t that make Catherine a widow by law? She still had his wedding ring because she wouldn’t give it back until he was the man she married. He gave the woman a small smile. “Marriage is a scary thing, isn’t it?”
