General Character and Play Information
- Merpeople, also known as mermaids, are creatures that live underwater. They are fish-like in appearance - while their upper half takes human form, their bottom half is all scales and tail.
- Merpeople are classified as Beasts by the Ministry at their own request. They possess the intelligence to reach Being status, but do not wish to share such a status with creatures such as hags and vampires.
- Merpeople have their own language - Mermish - but are capable of human languages, as well. Unfortunately, their speech is only understandable underwater. Above water, they sound as if they are just screeching nonsensically.
- Merpeople live underwater; they can breathe above water for short periods of time but cannot leave the water as they have no legs.
- Merpeople have a strong penchant for music.
