You don't HAVE to be just human in this wonderful wizarding world...if you'd like to play a centaur, please take a look at the info and rules below to see how they fit into both Harry Potter canon and our site canon!
General Character and Play Information
- Centaurs have the upper half of a human, down to the belly button, and the bottom half of a horse. That's two arms, four hooves total.
- Centaurs are intelligent and sentient creatures, capable of human speech.
- Centaurs are classified as Beasts by the Ministry at their own request, though they are qualified for Being status - they wish not to share such a status with creatures like hags and vampires.
- Centaurs do not practice magic the same way as humans, though they practice their own forms of magical Healing and Divination, usually involving the burning of magical herbs.
- Centaurs live in herds, typically in numbers ranging from ten to fifty, and within forests. The Ministry has established lands across the country for the exclusive use of centaurs.
- Centaurs are typically proud, honorable, territorial creatures and typically stick to their own, distrustful of others.
- Centaurs favor nature over technology. They craft weapons and other tools but rely on the forest for most of their livelihood.
Site-Specific Rules
- Centaurs on this site will have to be forest-dwelling creatures. Centaurs cannot live in cities, towns, castles, etc. As there is really only one forest on this site, the Forbidden Forest of Hogwarts is to be the dwelling of the site's centaurs.
- Centaurs must be half-human, half-horse.
