DESCRIPTION:Megan is an adorable little bug, a fact only increased by the smile she’s almost always wearing. Her smile does have a couple gaps now that her teeth have started falling out. That only makes her cuter though. Her hair tends to start out in pigtails or little butterfly clips, but usually by the end of the day whatever form her mother forced it into has become considerably more ragged. When it comes to clothes, Megan loves her sparkly princess dresses. They don’t always stay sparkly though. She’s just as happy running through the mud as she is dancing in the kitchen, so it’s not unusual to find her regal clothing splotched with dirt. But her bright eyes and bubbly giggles usually make up for it.

HOBBIES: coloring, going on imaginary adventures with her uncles, dancing, playing Legos with her brother, reading with her parents, just generally running around pretending to be a princess

GENERAL PERSONALITY: Megan is a princess, pure and simple. A little girl in a world of adults, she’s gotten rather used to people doting on her and giving in to what she wants. It’s probably safe to say she has become a little spoiled. Not that Megan’s a brat. In fact, most of the time she’s quite adorable. She tends to flit around the house dancing in her princess dresses or chasing imaginary dragons. She has absolutely zero fear of strangers. Anyone and everyone is a potential friend in Megan’s book. Actually, she’s really not afraid of much at all except for thunderstorms. She’s always up for an adventure of any kind, whether it be going to the supermarket with her mother or helping her Uncle Isaac save Aunt Becca from an imaginary curse. She’s also quite close to her brother, always asking him questions about the books he reads and trying to pull him into her adventures. While she can certainly be a handful if she’s in trouble or isn’t getting her way, Megan is mostly a spirited and playful kid too young as of yet to be worn down by the reality of the world. And her family’s perfectly happy to keep it that way as long as possible.

Character History: Megan’s first few years were remarkably happy, although she doesn’t remember much of it anymore. She and her brother and parents lived in a little house in a quiet neighborhood outside of London. They had enough to get by financially, and they spent many a happy evening in their living room. But war was brewing in England, and eventually it found them. One night when Megan was two a group of men came to the house. They broke down the door and killed Megan’s father. He was a Muggle born who had made a fuss about Voldemort’s Ministry trying to take away his wand. Megan’s mother managed to grab her two children and apparate away. But she was struck by a nasty curse in the process and died soon after. With no relatives to take them in, Megan and her brother Micah were placed in an orphanage with other magical orphans of war.

The war ended shortly after that. Megan and Micah, however, remained at the orphanage for almost a year. Micah was traumatized by what had happened, and him being upset tended to make Megan upset. She did a lot of crying and finding odd places in the orphanage to hide from the adults who came and went. (It took her some time to get over a deep fear of strangers.) One day though a nice couple came to visit. The man made Megan laugh and the woman helped her draw a unicorn, and when they left they gave her a teddy bear. Some time later the man and woman came back, this time to take Megan and Micah home with them.

While the novelty of their new home kept Megan happy for a bit, she wasn’t entirely sold on the O’Briens. She didn’t want new parents. She wanted her old ones. But her new parents were loving and teased her and took care of her just like her old parents had, so before long Megan came to accept it. Four years after the adoption and she barely even remembers her birth parents anymore. The O’Briens are her family, and it doesn’t even occur to Megan to question that. She’s in school now too, which she loves. Mostly because she has lots of little friends. And a brand new big sister, although Megan’s still working out how she feels about Hayden. The older girl’s certainly been nice enough to her. She seems to get along better with Micah though. Not that Megan minds. She knows how to get the attention she wants out of her aunts and uncles, so it doesn’t really bother her if her new sister seems a little withdrawn. Although Hayden’s gone back to Hogwarts now. Megan she can’t wait until she’s old enough to go to wizarding school and learn all about magic, which she loves making people show her. Until then, she’ll keep right on chasing dragons and drawing unicorns.
