Donald felt tired as he settled onto one of the comfortable chairs in the Ravenclaw common room. The 13 year old had spent all last night getting into a book and neglected to get enough sleep and he was now paying for it. The 3rd year let out a bit of a yawn tried hard to fight the urge to fall as asleep. The youngster thought that would be a foolish thing to do to fall asleep in front of his comrades in the common room.
Not only would that be embarrassing and might lower his standing amongst his house colleagues but it would also leave the pale skinned boy vulnerable to any pranksters who might have to have a bit of fun with a sleeping boy. With a small yawn he thought it would be best if he dragged himself off to bed before it was too late.
However he found that he just didn’t really have the energy to get up. He felt too comfortable on the chair he sat in. Why did the chairs in Ravenclaw tower have to be so comfortable? Well he supposed that it was good for when you spent a long time sitting on the chairs or sofas reading, studying, playing wizard chess or just plain chilling. But right now he needed to get up and get himself to bed before it was too late.
Unfortunately for Donnie it was just that, too late. He felt his eyelids getting more and more heavy as he failed to get up and instead fell fast sleep on the chair. The young boy snored lightly but not so much as to be too noticeable but anyone looking at the Welsh wizard could definitely tell that he was now in the land of nod.

Hayden was late getting back to the common room from her classes. The stairs had shifted, and she had ended up in the wrong wing. Not that she minded. Some of her best hiding places had been found after accidents like that. Besides, today she had come across Helena, the Ravenclaw ghost and one of Hayden’s few friends in the castle, and the two had gotten into quite a pleasant conversation about the history of that particular wing. At least until Lavender Brown had drifted in being her usual snotty self. Hayden got that the ghost was bitter about her state, but it was hard to feel bad when she was begin rude. Anyway, she was back in the tower now and prepared to drop off her textbooks so she could grab her drawing supplies and get out of the castle. There were still a few hours before dark, and it would be a shame to waste the lovely fall weather.
For the most part, Hayden tended to keep her head down around the castle. She might not have many friends, but she didn’t really want any either. Or at least that was what she told herself. Today though her attention was snagged by a younger boy who had fallen asleep in a chair. Hayden probably would’ve left him alone had it not been for the way some older students were looking at him. Whatever they were planning wouldn’t be good for the little hedgehog boy. (Seriously, he reminded Hayden of a hedgehog. Spiky hair with a gooey center.) Which still might not have been a big deal except that Hayden had a little brother now, and apparently Micah got bullied at school. It was the comparison to her adopted sibling and the unfamiliar surge of protective instinct that came with it that finally stopped Hayden in her tracks. She paused briefly on the common room floor before heading over to the chair where the boy had nodded off. “Hey,” she said quietly. Getting no response, she reached out and gave his shoulder a gentle shake. “Wake up, Westwood.” That was his name, right?

Donald was very deep into the land of nod having a very pleasant dream about being seeker for the Ravenclaw team and helping the house secure the quidditch cup by winning every single match. The young lad was certainly obsessed with quidditch and becoming the team seeker was one of his ambitious at the current point in time. Being fast asleep he didn’t notice an older girl approach him in order to wake him up. Being a victim of bullying himself the youngster would have probably come a cropper if Hayden hadn’t had come along. Who know what wicked deeds the older students had planned for Don. The 3rd year could never really figure out why he got bullied so much. He was a nice enough boy and didn’t really go out of his way to antagonise anyone, well apart from his sister that is, and he always tried to be as polite and friendly as he could be. Perhaps it was due to his small build or how easy he could be to wind up, his learning disability, or his failure in transfiguration magic but for some reason the Welsh wizard was just a target that some people decided to pick on. When the 5th year said ‘Hey’ in an attempt to wake him up Don did not response. Like most teenagers he was a very deep sleeper. Hayden Pierce O'Brien then attempted to shake him gentley and told him to wake up. Donnie just murmured something that was incomprehensible before tossing over slightly. He was still deep into sleep. Cecilia had just gotten back from the dungeons (again) after another round of experiments. She had at least managed to get somewhere after lowering the amount of sulfuric acid and added the ingredient Garreth had suggested. She also felt accompplished when the new experiment didnt melt the glass or explode... though she couldnt say the same thing for the table or the iron stirrer she had used. As she entered the common room, she saw a few fifth and sixth years who were eyeing Westwood in a way that Cecilia didnt like.
Narrowing her eyes, she took mental note of the faces before turning to look at the girl who probably tried to wake the third year. She sighed as she made her way to the sleeping boy. Cecilia then proceeded to pinch his thighnto wake him up, knowing well it worked for her sister, Sonya, and eldest brother, Magnus. "If you wish to sleep, heead up to your dorm room, Westwood. The common room is used for studying and mingling, not sleeping." Cecilia said as she then moved to occupy the table near the window. Until the boy was behind the safety of his bed curtains, Cecilia thought it would be best to keep an eye on him since unwanted and malicious eyes were looking at him too. Cecilia narrowed her eyes at the group of 'claws who flinched and moved further away from her and Westwood.

Donald yet again merely mumbled when his friend @sophie2 tried to wake him. The pinching of his thighs did start to cause him to stir slightly though. However it wasn’t really enough top rouse him totally out of his slumber. The 13 year old looked rather groggily towards the two girls before mumbling something along the lines of ”Leave me alone Amy” before going back to his snooze. It didn't seem like Cecilia was going to have anymore sucess than Hayden Pierce O'Brien. A few thoughts did go through the 3rd year’s brain however. Why was it that there were two Amy’s? Did his sister mange to clone herself? Goodness that would be dreadful. Maybe it was her friend? Moreover why was Amy in the boys’ dorm of Ravenclaw tower? The security was very weak granted but he wasn’t sure his sister could work out the riddle. Well actually she was pretty smart so maybe. But to trespass in the boys’ dorm while trespassing in the wrong common room was double trespassing. That was not a great idea on his sibling’s behalf. Thirdly, and more to the point, what exactly was the reason for her trying to wake him up? Was there a fire? Had nuclear war come? Where the aliens invading? He didn’t know but it didn’t sound like anyone was panicking. Maybe it was just time for breakfast? In all fairness he did try to wake himself up at this point but his eyelids felt so heavy it was like they were magnetically attracted to each other. He also felt heavily weighed down to the chair that he couldn’t get up. Maybe a few more moments of napping might help... he though wearily to himself still not really processing exactly where he was or who he was with. Instead of getting up the Ravenclaw lad started to snore ever so lightly. |

Miyu hummed to himself as he bounced up the stairs. Today must be his lucky day - not only was the moving staircase showing him the shortest route from the library back to the Ravenclaw's Tower, he managed to get all the books he needed for this week's assignments. He hopped onto the fifth floor soundlessly and began to stroll towards the eagle doorknocker. He lifted up the ring and let it go, activating the knocker, which posed him a riddle: "What is the middle of the middle?" "June fifteenth," was the young boy's immediate response. "June is the month in the middle of a year, and the fifteenth day is in the middle of a month." Also, it's my birthday, he mused. "...Very well." The knocker seemed to be satisfied with his answer, and the door swung open to admit the first-year into the common room decorated with blue and silver (and that statue of their house founder which he didn't like much). As he stepped inside, he was greeted by the curious sight of a gathering around one of the chintz armchairs. He could make out one of those who were surrounding the seat, a familiar face he couldn't possibly forget. Of all people, why is Cecilia joining this crowd?He walked towards the armchair, and noticed the person sleeping on it. Donald. It appeared that Cecilia and another girl (what's her name again?) were trying to wake him up. He glanced around, spotting some quills and a bottle of ink on a nearby table. A smirk crept onto his face as he moved to the table and pulled out a small piece of paper, scribbling a some Japanese words on it. Then he muttered a spell in his native tongue under his breath, and placed the talisman onto the quills before saying the final line, " Way of Binding: Heaven's String." The talisman passed through the quills, and they suddenly sprung to 'life' - well, more like he was temporarily controlling such inanimate objects through onmyodo - and he willed them to move to where Donald was. Maybe tickling Donald with the feathered end of the quills would be more than enough to wake the sleeping third-year up.

It was probably a good thing that Miyu Kisaragi shot quills at Donald otherwise the heavy sleeping boy might never have woken up. Or at least they might not have woken up in any good condition since the pranksters in the house could have certainly pulled some mean pranks on him. Still the brief pain from the quills proved to be a bit of a rude awaking for the young lad. He fell out of the chair with a start and landed on his backside. ”OW” he said both from the quills and the fall. He climbed up back to his feet. He glares at @sophie2 , at Hayden Pierce O'Brien and at Miyu. ”What was that for?” he said sounding not too cross but still slightly irritated by what happened. He let out another yawn. The 13 year old looked around still rather sleepily ”Why am I down here by the way? I....did I fall asleep here?” he now looked a bit sheepishly. Maybe they did the right thing in waking him up. He knew that he needed waking up he did wonder why they had to do it in such a way? They could have just shaken him and asked him gently to wake up, or pinched him or anything like that. Then again maybe they did. Donnie knew that he could sometimes be a heavy sleeper. Most teenagers could be after all. |

Cecilia was thinking of trying to wake Westwood up once more. However, the next spell on her mind was a Stinging Hex and as much as possible, she didn't want to have to use drastic measures just to wake him up. Hearing someone come in, she turned her head to see the firstie, Kisaragi if she was right, enter. One look at him then she turned to sigh and take a seat on the opposite armchair Westwood was occupying. That way, no one would dare try anything with her nearby.
However, it seemed that she and O'Brien weren't the only once interested in waking the third year up and getting him to rest where it was safe. Whoever thought that just because they were Ravenclaws, none of them bullied, it was a lie. From what she knew, even the House of Intelligence had bullies and mediocre members as well. Cecilia was about to read a book when she noticed Kisaragi do something to the quills that then launched themselves to Westwood and woke him up by making him fall off the chair somehow. When Westwood inquired why he was awakened the way he did, Cecilia rolled her eyes. "It was Kisaragi who managed to successful wake you up, Sleeping Beauty. And as to why your down here and if you fell as sleep, yes you fell asleep down here thus why you ARE here. If you wish to continue sleeping, go up to your dorm and do it there. The Common Room isn't for sleeping, Westwood. You should know this by now." Cecilia reminded him as she opened her book, and began to ignore everyone else.

Miyu swore to himself, realizing that he had poked Donald Westwood with the sharp end of the quill rather than the feathered side. Hey, it wasn't his intention to hurt anyone, especially not with such a minor prank! Still, the little trick did its job, and he watched his third-year housemate woke up with a start, falling off his seat with a daze. Unfortunately, before he could scoot off from the scene and melt into the crowd, @sophie2 had called out on him. Darn it.He turned back to Donald slowly, arranging the expression on his face to give his senior an apologetic grin. "Well, uh, sorry 'bout that. It's as Ceci said, that's the only way to wake you up." At least no one seemed to figure out how he had magicked the quills... and he'd love for the secret to be kept that way throughout his years in Hogwarts. Once Cecilia was done lecturing Donald and returned her attention back to her own books, Miyu shrugged at his friend. "Y'know, she's right. Better to sleep in the dorm beds than curling up in this chair with all the dins going on." Behind the first year, the other Ravenclaws had started to banish cushions at each other for a magical pillow fight.

Donald couldn’t help but feel embarrassed that he fell to sleep in the common room. He glanced at Miyu Kisaragi when @sophie2 pointed out that he managed to week him up. If he managed to do that by magic then it was a pretty impressive feat for a first year. Still being called sleeping beauty by the 7th year girl did not really help Don’s already bruised ego. Nor did the lecture she was giving him about his stupidity of sleeping in the common room. ”Sorry Cecila and Miyu...” he said to his two friends, before noting another girl was watching to. Did she try to wake him or was she just an observer Also what was her name? She was a couple of years older than Donald. The 13 year old yawned slightly as he tried to put a name to the face but he didn’t. Maybe it was tiredness or perhaps he just didn’t know Hayden Pierce O'Brien’s name. Regardless he returned his focus on the others. Oh great, Now a first year is telling me too. he thought to himself as Miyu told him he be better sleeping in the dorm. ”Well, thanks Miyu....” he said rather sheepishly ”Although it wasn’t my plan to sleep down here it just sort....of...well happened....you know?” he told the trio with another self-conscious grin. ”I guess I shouldn’t read too much before bed....” he added with another small yawn. He knew that, if he wasn’t very careful, he would be falling back into the land of nod yet again. ((OOC: Whoops. I totally misread your previous post Tsu. I am really sorry about that. I thought, for some strange reason, that they poked him. I apologise yet again and will be more careful in future.)) |
