Toil and Trouble

Slowly, she and Theo were re-acclimating to the Wizarding World. They had wands, they'd been to Diagon Alley and they were even going back to work very, very soon. Still, Mali wasn't exactly comfortable with being alone in a world of witches and wizards and had done a good job of avoiding the situation. Today she needed to venture into Diagon Alley to get some Niffler supplies and ever her hero, Eoin agreed to come along with her. Somewhere along the way the pair had snagged the latest issue of The Daily Prophet and Mali was pouring over it while the adorable duo ate lunch, tucked away at one of the Leaky Cauldron's back tables.
Mali was outraged over what she was reading, there was a copy of the newest creature legislation printed right on the front page as breaking news. It was infuriating, it was like the Ministry was taking a sort of sick joy in cornering creatures and stripping away every ounce of dignity. Wolfsbane regulation, veela hair samples and trolls couldn't have clubs. The woman was going after trolls. Unbelievable! True, the trolls had gone on a rampage in Hogsmeade but it was hardly their fault. There had to be something more to the story, trolls didn't suddenly appear in the middle of a village, they were far too big to sneak up on anyone.
When Mali had enough she threw the news paper down on the table, looking up to Eoin. "Can you believe that!?" she asked, clearly disturbed by what she'd read. It was nauseating and infuriating all at the same time. Her gaze drifted to the rest of the patrons while the witch chewed on her lower lip. Anyone of them could be from the Ministry, someone important or powerful and perhaps it wasn't wise to be heard bashing a Ministry that'd already made it perfectly clear that it was comfortable overstepping it's role and abusing it's power.
Her shoulders slumped slightly, drawing in as she folded her arms on the table top. Mali inclined her head, staring thoughtfully at the table as she gathered her thoughts. There were a lot of things to feel since so many things had happened. Fear, Remorse, Sorrow, Anger and.. restlessness. There was a distinct feeling that she had to pay back all the kindness shown to her lately. Kindness from Mister Lupin, Eoin, The Order but she didn't know how. It made her feel unsettled with some sort of outstanding debt. Maybe this was her chance to rise to the occasion, to repay the debt and make a difference. Finally, she looked back at Eoin, dropping her volume and leaning forward. "We have to do something. We can't just sit and watch them treat people, treat our friends like this. But what can we do?"
