After a long day of bodily fluids and mysterious fluids that didn't seem to be coming from any body, but getting all over him all the same, Theo was chomping at the bit to get home and - more than likely, straight into his bed. Even as he normalized his life again with getting back to work, even as he made himself happy again by spending time with Mali, the exhaustion still lingered. Theo shoved it into the back of his mind along with everything else threatening to tear him down (more of a survival strategy than a long-term one, but ignoring everything that happened was getting easier everyday), but the exhaustion was more physiological than the anxiety and the fear and the guilt. It made his brain sluggish at times, but it also wracked his body. Theo prided himself on his stamina, his strength...even after hitting the thirty-year mark he still mostly felt like he did when he was a younger man. Feeling tired and weak because he struggled to sleep at night (the nightmares lingered, too; he'd always been prone to them) wasn't becoming on him and it had been just as hard to adjust to as everything else going on in his brain.
At the very least the little surprising moments of panic had died down - mostly. As Theo walked through his front door he was met with one, like a sharp smack to the face - because that bloke from the Eye attack was sitting on his living room couch. With his sister. Why was he here, what was he doing here? Theo's eyes grew wide but he clenched his fists to stop himself from doing anything further until he took a couple of moments to think - this was a lot to ask of Theo, but he was having to do it more and more these days; murderers didn't get the luxury of punch first, ask questions later. "What are you doing here?" Probably not his best question, or greeting - and Meg let him know, scolding him before informing him that she and Aje were visiting and catching up because he'd just been oh so kind to her that day at the Eye. Theo had to dig his thumbs into his palms to stop himself from rolling his eyes.
To stop himself from doing much more than that, too - or just saying it - Theo mumbled something incoherent and fully intended to walk right on by the pair to his bedroom. Now he was definitely exhausted. Aje - that was his name - didn't have anything to do with the hospital but he was still a jerk, another thing Theo didn't have patience for when he was tired. He was halfway to his sanctuary when his sister popped up off the couch and announced that she just remembered she had to pick up some poor creature's eyeballs or something for Luna, and wouldn't Theo keep Aje company while she was gone? She'd be right back! Without waiting for an answer, Meg was turning on her heel and popping out of existence, and Theo could have sworn he heard a mischievous little giggle accompanying the crack of her Disapparation.
Well, fuck. Theo leaned against the back of one of the other couches in the room, turning his head to look at Aje. "So, apparently you need a babysitter?" Theo wasn't at all interested in leaving this man alone in his house while he went to go sleep - but gods, spending time with him almost sounded worse. In his exhaustion and irritation, Theo simply couldn't help the sass.
