His People

Aje chose a hell of a time to retire from the Auror department. There were Death Eaters, Werewolves and Dementors... and that was only this past month! One good thing that came from his retirement was that he could focus more on his role in The Order, and there was debate amongst them as to where to focus their energies. Aje believed they should not split their attention, that they needed to unite and face the Death Eaters as one strong front instead of many small, weaker fronts. The Dementors were a threat, but they couldnt hide among innocent people. The Werewolves weren't a problem except for one night a month (which was fast approaching for this month). He found himself more involved in The Order now that he didn't split his energy between it and auror work, he was more emotionally invested. As much as he didn't want to get his emotions tied up with the others, they were becoming 'his people' and Aje would fiercely protect his people. His mind was constantly turning with ways they could gain themselves an edge.
One night his mind wandered home. There were many talented witches and wizards where he came from, the European focus on magic was different. Neither was necessarily stronger or more impressive than the other (although he was biased towards his own brand of magic) but their skills would prove to be useful. Uagadou students were known to be especially talented with self transfiguration. From animagi forms to transfiguring their own appearances temporarily. This was something he thought could be useful to the Order, give them a degree of stealth. African wizard and witches weren't registered with the British Ministry, either. He was, but only because he was established here.
With these thoughts and ideas bouncing around in his mind, Aje requested to speak with Harry Potter . He both respected and pitied the man, dark forces had stolen his family and his childhood from him but he was the savior of the European wizarding world. And also, unofficial official head of The Order (although many would say that Remus Lupin co-captained that role, him included.) The two men met at the Hogs Head. It was convenient for him to slip away from Hogwarts and there was a less chance of their conversation being overheard. People at The Hogs Head tended to mind their own shady business.
Aje had claimed one of the tables towards the back and was nursing a glass of firewhiskey when the man with the messy black hair strode through the pub. The former auror lifted his hand to catch the boy's (to Aje, Potter was a boy even if they had been coworkers only months ago) attention. A rare unrestrained grin brightened his otherwise serious face, Aje was genuinely in a good mood. His time at Hogwarts was enjoyable, there was delicious food, tournaments and helpful elves. He even managed to get the hang of the stairs and the house system and his enjoyment made his mood light, unable to be dragged down even by the heaviness that was descending upon the wizarding world's shoulders every day. "Pẹlẹ o ọrẹ mi!"* he greeted, motioning to the seat across from him. "I hope you are well. I have learned out what it means to be a Gryffindor. That is the home you were in as a boy, I think? Bravery! I can see it in you and your friends!" They could stand a little small talk before delving into the reason he wanted to meet, surely. Aje was eager to talk about Hogwarts, having been smitten with the school.
