Why she had thought that this transformation would be less painful, Rosa wasn't sure. Probably that proverb that always turned up in books - the first time is always the worst. Rosabella had to disagree. If anything, this time had been worse than the first. Rosa had been in the flat - her parents were over at a friend's place for the night, and of course her sister was at school - and trying to ignore the fact that it was a full moon. Maybe she had thought that if she ignored it, it would go away. How very wrong she had been. The apartment was trashed, and she was fairly sure the scratch across her belly was self-inflicted. Thankfully, it had taken the wolf far too long to figure out how to open the door, and she had woken up on the step at moonset, her bones aching, her head pounding, and she had several splinters from having crashed through the door. Their small flat in London was rather out of the way, and had several wards placed around it so that it muggles couldn't see the general goings on of the house (Rosa's mother was very into gardening, but just couldn't seem to get the hang of the muggle way). Which meant that no one was even looking her way as she picked herself up and disappeared inside. She did her best to fix what was broken, but there was so much that was ruined. When most of it was done - including the door, which had taken quite some time - it was nearly nine o'clock, which meant that her parents would be home soon. Rosa couldn't stand for them to see her like this, tears still running down her cheeks though she was certain there was none left, and a general emotional mess. They'd figure out what had happened in no time at all. So she left. She apparated - not sure exactly where her destination was - and ended up somewhere familiar. She was outside The Three Broomsticks. Also somewhere she didn't want to be. Dani and Meg and her other co-workers weren't stupid - they'd find her out as well. Backing up, Rosa turned away and walked briskly down the street, avoiding people's curious eyes; not letting them see the tears that still hadn't dissipated. As such, as she turned down what she thought was an empty side street, she walked striaght into something solid. A person, it turned out. "I-I'm sorry," she tried, but talking seemed too much of an effort and she sunk down against the wall, trying desperately to contain the tears and avoiding the eyes of this person, too. Usually she had better control of her emotions, but after the transformation, everything seemed to slip by her defences - particularly the tears. She couldn't remember the last time she'd cried before she became a werewolf. Addy Stark - Sorry this is a little late (I'm not sure about other timezones, but here I'm about 24 hours late) - school just went back and the work got the better of me. But anyway here it is, albeit a little rushed, but here none the less

When Addy couldn't solve problems, she trained. It was soothing, to throw herself into something physical - flying, running, climbing - and focus on her muscles and her heart beating out through her fingertips rather than whirring thoughts. She'd been doing a lot of that recently, not just for her job but for herself, as she and Crystal threw themselves against invisible walls, the world started to turn sour, and she was left with only herself and her puppy to hold on to. So, she'd started to run. When running Hyde Park had gotten too repetitive - too much time to think - she'd switched, and then again. This morning she'd ended up in Hogsmeade, feet pounding the cobbled stone with Finn jogging beside her, looking very pleased with himself. Merlin, Addy loved her dog. He was almost always a better friend than a person (even if, she hated to admit it, sometimes she craved conversation with humans over the one-sided chat you could have with her dog). She was smiling at him as she turned a corner, which was probably why she didn't see the distraught woman in front of her until they slammed into each other. Addy tumbled to a halt, catching herself on one hand and knee. She took a moment to adjust, then looked up to assure the girl that she was okay - only to find her crying. Addy frowned, tilting her head - something wasn't right. Finn, bless him, trotted over to stick his head into the blonde's space and check her out, and Addy followed, a bit less intrusively. " Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" Addy checked first, kneeling next to the girl - about her age, but not familiar from school. " Finn, give her room," she scolded, tugging on his ruff gently to make sure he didn't stifle the poor thing. __________________________________________________________ No worries! I totally understand, school is kicking my butt too Also this is Addy's puppy

Thinking about it now as she avoided the prying eyes of strangers, Rosa couldn't see why she hadn't thought to put protective charms on the things in the family flat. Everything was hurting more because of it, and she'd manage to destroy half the place (thank Merlin she was a witch). Perhaps a cushioning charm was a good idea? Gods, she hated this. She wished she'd had a way out. She wished she hadn't walked in Godric's Hollow on that night. She wished she'd been quicker with her wand. But she didn't, she had, and she hadn't. There was nothing she could do now.
Rosa sank against the wall, and the next thing she knew there was a dog in her face. Rosa blinked and her mind flashed to Godric's Hollow. It wasn't like the werewolves looked anything like this dog, but the shape of a dog brought back memories and made Rosa nervous. She leaned back a little, eyeing the dog warily as unbidden tears began to fall. Then the owner was there and asking her questions and Rosa leaned as far back into the wall as she could. She felt pathetic, but she was shattered and it didn't quite register.
"No," she croaked, looking away again. Her voice lowered to a whisper. "I did, though. I hurt me. This is my fault." More tears. "I went out - I made the decision. This– this is all on me." Rosa sniffed. "Why did I leave?" She wasn't sure where she was referring to - America or her home two full moons ago. But that brought her to her senses. She hadn't meant to say any of that. She had meant to say that the other girl hadn't hurt her; that she wasn't hurt and she was fine. But it had just slipped out, her emotions getting the better of her. They seemed to be good at that today. Rosa's hands went to her face, trying to quell her tears; pushing them aside. She sat there a moment, managing to bring the tears to a minimum before forcing herself to look towards the other woman. She attempted a small smile in vain.
"I'm sorry," she managed to choke, and then the tears were back. She wanted them to stop. She wanted to be able to say she was fine and just move on; away from any attention and the people. But they wouldn't. They refused to leave her be. Instead of watching the woman who had managed to catch her at her worst, Rosa's eyes found the dog, and she watched him instead, ignoring the connections that her brain kept trying to draw between a dog and a wolf. She felt like a child again. Like one who had fallen off their broom and scraped their knee. Rosa felt vulnerable - like a scared little girl, and she supposed that's exactly what she was.

As Addy righted herself, palm scraping lightly on the cobblestones as she pushed back to her feet, the other girl was shrinking into herself, looking as though she was on the verge of a mental breakdown. Addy's brows furrowed thoughtfully, and she stepped forward, though not as fast as Finn. Most people she met absolutely adored her big puppy, but the blonde looked nervous, and so Addy tched and pulled Finn back, telling him to stay. He tucked himself against the wall a little ways away, obligingly, leaving Addy free to see what was going on.
"Hey, hey," she said, her voice firm, not exactly sure what the other girl was talking about but trying to keep her in the present. Addy was a touchy person by nature, and that was how she gave comfort, so she covered the other girls' hands with her own, leaning in and trying to get her attention. "Not your fault," she assured her, completely positive this was so, so earnest that even though Addy didn't know what the girl was talking about, she believed it wholeheartedly. "Not your fault, sssh." Addy slid to her knees next to the blonde, moving her hand to one of her shoulders as the other woman curled inwards, trying to pull herself together.
"It's okay," Addy said, voice still firm. "Hey. Do you need a hug?" She bit her lip, thoughtfully, and tilted her head. "Finn gives good hugs too, promise. He's a big sap, nothing to be afraid of." She shifted again, crossing her legs as if it was totally normal for her to be sitting on the cobblestones in her running gear, looking attentively at the other woman's face. "I'm Addy, by the way. Do you have a name?"

The woman was far more touchy than anyone Rosa knew. Perhaps Ivy was a good contender, but she was family, so that didn't count. This woman was in her face and holding her hands and telling her it wasn't her fault. Rosa shied away from it, but somehow it did make her feel just a little bit better. A stranger who didn't know her and had no idea what she was talking about was adamantly convinced that this was not Rosa's fault.
Rosa paused at the mention of a hug, shaking her head as an automatic reaction. She did need a hug. Desperately. But she wasn't exactly in the habit of having random strangers hug her. Although, truth be told, if she was going to let any random stranger hug her, it would probably be this one. More tears fell, and Rosa wiped them away with the heel of her hand, sniffing and trying very hard to breath normally. She eyed the dog again as the woman mentioned him. He looked awfully fluffy. He was staying just enough away that he wasn't in her face, but also just within her reach. Cautiously, Rosa reached out towards him, trying to focus on something other than whatever this whole situation was. Her hand sank into his fur, and a small smile formed on Rosa's lips, but as his head came around to sniff her hand, memories flashed again, and she drew her hand away quickly.
Rosa forced herself to take a deep breath before she answered Addy. "I-I'm R-rosabella. Rosabella." That was right, wasn't it? Another pesky tear slipped down her cheek and Rosa huffed in frustration. She looked up at the sky, almost seeing the full moon as she had seen it right before the pain had begun. Rosa shook her head and found the eyes of the girl again. They were friendly and Rosa found comfort in them. "I do need a hug," Rosa found herself saying before she could stop herself. She blushed and looked away, her eyes welling again. How much could she cry before she ran out of tears?
