It took Toby a painfully long time to answer. And when he finally did, his words weren’t at all welcoming. Not that Hayden had been expecting warmth exactly. Toby didn’t really do warm. But while his words might be neutral enough, his tone said he didn’t want her there. So did the way he wouldn’t meet her gaze. Up to this point, Hayden had mostly been able to convince herself the lack of Toby in her life was just due to happenstance. Their schedules simply hadn’t intersected. But now the truth was painfully obvious. Toby didn’t want her around. And considering he was about the closest she had to a friend aside from a guidance counselor and her house ghost, that stung.
She opened her mouth to ask if he was sure, but the other lion got there first. She was practically oozing sarcasm. Clearly she didn’t take kindly to Hayden’s intrusion either. Or maybe she was just offended that her opinion hadn’t been asked, although that was only because Hayden had assumed she wouldn’t care if she was willingly sitting with Toby. Who was now staring straight ahead like Hayden wasn’t there. The curly-headed Gryffindor proceeded to suggest a bet with him, almost like they were actually friends, and that clenched it. Hayden wasn’t wanted. No point in sticking around then. “Never mind. I don’t want to interrupt,” she said in a strained voice. She turned away abruptly, hopefully before Toby could see the flash of hurt in her eyes. She should be glad he had found someone else to hang out with. But she couldn’t help feeling like she had just been replaced.
It was that very feeling of being pushed aside that caused her to weave through the stands toward the O’Brien siblings instead of just heading back to the castle. Becca had waved her over, so she might as well go say hi. At least someone wanted her around, even if it was just out of obligation. It took some considerable dodging and elbowing, but finally Hayden ended up beside Becca. The reporter actually smiled at the sight of her. Although her brow furrowed at the expression on Hayden’s face. “You okay?” she asked. Hayden nodded, pasting on the best smile she could manage. Becca gave her a long look before reaching out an arm to tug Hayden into a side hug. Had it come from Claire, the affection would’ve made Hayden uncomfortable. But Becca was just like that with everyone. Well, everyone who was family, which apparently included Hayden now. And as uncomfortable as the contact had made Hayden at the beginning of her adoption, it was quickly growing on her. Besides, unlike Claire, Becca seemed to know when to let things go. Like right now.
Becca put her mouth next to Hayden’s ear so her niece could hear her over the sudden cheering of the crowd. “Let me know if you want to ditch the lunatics.” She was smiling as she pulled away and motioned her head in the direction of Trace, Hannah and Emily all trying to out-yell one another. Then Trace caught sight of Hayden and suddenly there were three young adults smiling at her and calling warm greetings and loudly asking over one another which team she would root for because clearly theirs was the best. Hayden glanced up at Becca, who shook her head in a way that said to leave her out of this. “Um… Puddlemere?” Hayden offered uncertainly. That drew a victorious cry from Hannah and a dramatic groan from Trace while Emily promptly began protesting. Hayden could feel herself smiling just a little at their antics. She was still upset about Toby. Very much so. But maybe the lunatics, as Becca had dubbed them, weren't such a bad substitute.
(OOC - I didn't feel like waiting for Becca to be sorted, so I just slid her in here.)

Harry's retort coaxed his eyebrows up, surely someone like The Boy Who Lived couldn't be into self depreciating comments. If anyone had the right to be cocky and arrogant it was definitely him, and not just about his skills as a wizard. Youngest Seeker Hogwarts had ever seen, best seeker of his age... Alec was very impressed to see his ego was relatively tame. He smiled at the redhead, nodding appreciatively at her comment. "I wasn't talking about playing." He added, fussing with his robes before looking back to Potter with the cheekiest of grins "I'll let you guess the color of my bedsheets." with a wink, Alec was off into the air. Soon joined by the rest of his teammates. The match was off to an impressive start. Puddlemere obtained the Quaffle first, thanks to Parkinson. She was breakneck quick on a broomstick and snatched it right out of the air. Of course she was immediately swarmed by chasers from both sides and drew the attention of The Weasley Twins. Parkinson passed the quaffle off quickly and Alec flew to cover Addy, giving Amelia thumbs up and a "Great job!" as he passed. Stark was bold, speeding straight at one of the Weasley twins (which one, he didn't know). Alec's counterpart sped to block a bludger, aiming it to force a cannons chaser into an evasive move. The quaffle changed hands shortly after and the Cannons seemed to have given up all hopes of stealing it and focused on blocking Ginny Weasley from scoring. Alec looked to Meri, his partner, who flew to cover the redheaded chaser while he flew off after one of the bludgers. When the Quidditch Captain caught up with one he aimed for the line of chasers, specifically Cassabelle Blackburn and with a powerful swing he sent it speeding off towards the line, hoping to give Ginny Weasley an opening to score.

Tobias smiled shyly when Jasmine told him he was just in time to see the greatest Quidditch match in a long time. He was glad he came to Hogsmaede today. While he may not have gotten the Fire Whiskey which had been his intentional plan, he might have gotten something more valuable. Memories of his first professional Quidditch match.
Blue eyes sparkled with admiration as he followed the Puddlemere captain. His cheeks glowed when Jasmine confirmed he was pretty good. But he blinked up when she told him the beater position was an easy one. “Huh? I-I think it’s very honorable one. You have to protect your teammates at all cost,” he said imagining how much responsibility a beater would feel.
Oh be damned. Toby’s face visibly paled when Jasmine’s jaw dropped. He’d said something weird again. The boy fretted with his hands and looked both nervous and amazed. Apparently the keeper was some famous person. Well more famous than regular Quidditch players. The story continued and Toby’s eyes followed all her gestures. The golden trio, you-know-who, Harry Potter. “Wait, I think I’ve heard this story somewhere before,” he stated while scratching his chin. Probably somewhere in the orphanage but he never paid attention to it. As a muggleborn he really missed out on things. “But I always thought it was some sort of fiction story. They’re real people! And it actually happened!” His mouth hung open as he followed the three mentioned people. “Woah.”
The boy was completely pulled in by all these amazing discoveries. Sometimes he forgot how much the world had to offer. Then Jasmine asked if they would give an autograph, the shoulder bump brought him back in the real world. The young werewolf squawked at the bump, while it was not a hard one she hit him exactly where he’d scratched himself last week. The wounds were still healing. Toby decided not to comment on it, he did rub his shoulder. “Would you really dare to ask them?” Toby gasped, other Gryffindors were way more daring than he was.
Hayden’s presence had broken Toby’s little careless moment. He tried to block it all out but he was unsuccessful. The tone in Jasmine’s voice was something he didn’t expect, he gazed up at the elder Gryffindor but remained silent. Hayden seemed to have made a decision. When she announced her leave and took the first step, Toby felt the urge to stand up and grab her arm to pull her back. He just was a minute too late, all he could do now was follow her with his gaze as she disappeared from sight. Toby’s good humor was gone, he could only feel bad for his action just now. Just then Jasmine decided to nudge him which fell all wrong with the young Gryff. “Will you stop touching me?” This tone was slightly annoyed, this he only realized afterwards. A sigh escaped him, Toby ran a hand through his messy hair, pushing it back. “Sorry,” he mumbled. Embarrassment was written on his face, he didn’t want to upset someone else so quickly. Then he shook his head. “Can’t bet, I’m broke as hell.” That’s what you got from living on the streets and having to steal to have food. One couldn’t simply steal at Hogwarts, people were watching you everywhere. “Unless you know anything not money related that you might want from me,” he shrugged. His eyes were back on the match, seeking distraction. He was just in time to see Wayland hit a bludger.

Being on a broom always felt great to Ginny but being on an actual quidditch pitch and actually playing felt pretty amazing. It took every cell of her body to stop her from cheering over the fact that she actually got passed the quaffle. It wouldn't have been good if she dropped the thing the second she got it. Seeing the chasers of the Cannons line up Ginny began looking for an opening. She slowed down on her broom and check around her to see what was going on. Luckily for her, Alec had sent a bludger heading towards the line. Taking her opportunity, Ginny flew in behind the bludger and looking for where her broom destroyer of a brother was at. It was here where she decided to take a chance and aimed for the open ring as she became inline with the other team's chasers and threw the quaffle as fast and as hard as she could. Hopefully, she wasn't too far away.

Ron's heckling was returned with a quip of Harry's own but Ron couldn't hear him over how excited he felt. It wasn't every day one got to play Quidditch with their heroes. Unlike when he met the wanker Viktor Krum, meeting Cassabelle Blackburn and the rest of her team face to face, where he could breathe the same air as them, didn't dash his fan love to bits. She was so... cool and witty and down to earth and---he could gush on all post, really, but there were other things to focus on. The quaffle was thrown out and he hissed a few curses under his breath as Puddlemere, a Parkinson no less, took possesion of the quaffle before the canons chasers could even blink. The girl probably had practice stealing the quaffle from her days as a Slytherin where they stole answers off of other people's exams, house points, candy from babies, the lot. All hope wasn't lost, the Cannons still had a chance. "C'mmon." he muttered under his breathe as he sat back on his broomstick. "You can grab it. Don't let Gin get it.. Don't let Gin---Damn!" Despite his rambles Ginny was passed the quaffle and took possesion of it. Git Beater Alec Stupidly Pretty Wayland aimed the bludger for Cassabelle and Ginny was lightning quick--she was a Weasley after all-- moved in for the goal. He readied himself for the shot. Everything seemed to slow down for him and all he could hear was the sound of his own breathing over the low rumble of the crowd. Ron was focused, determined. When Ginny took her shot he watched the quaffle leave her hands and honed in on it. Wide eyed and ready, Ron urged his broom forward to meet the ball and snatched it clear out of the air. The look on his freckled face immediately after betrayed him to the fact he was completely stunned by his own catch, expecting Ginny to have scored with no problem. His baby sister was hell on a broomstick and there weren't many keepers who could defend against her arm. After a moment of shock, Ron cocked a crooked grin and held the quaffle up in the air to relish in his small victory as Cannon fans sang a loud, off key chorus of Weasley is Our King. He pumped his fist for good measure before chucking the quaffle towards Cassabelle Blackburn

So...Cassabelle's new defensive technique didn't work out that great. That's okay. That's why she was trying it out! Ever the optimist, she held the line with her fellow chasers until she could hear Alec's bludger whistling through the air toward her. At the very last possible moment - in the interest of not giving them a huge gap in time to take their shot at the goal - she dove down and spun away, under Ginny, while her two other chasers flanked the girl. It was too late, of course, but they all knew that. They were all turned watching the goal now, to see what this Weasley King could do.
And by gods, did he do it! Even Ron himself looked shocked that he actually caught the Quaffle, but there was no time to think on that right now. Cass grinned at him and joined in with a little fist pumping and singing before holding her hands out to to the Quaffle he tossed her way. Hoping Ron's victory shocked the other team enough to give her a little edge, Cass was immediately off down the middle of the pitch, her other chasers on the edges and her eyes seeking out the twin ginger beaters that would protect her on the way to her goal.
