Alec Wayland's team was falling apart. A brutally contagious illness had wiped out his entire reserve and was working it's way through his first string team. His seeker was the first victim, followed by one of his chasers. Unfortunately he had to order his team into isolation, no visiting the sick. Stay indoors as much as possible and if someone so much as sneezed they were thrown out of practice until they came back with a clean bill of health. It was drastic but he was determined to defend their league title again this season. And because Quidditch players as a whole were generally a close knit group players from other teams started dropping like flies. His brilliant idea to replace the sick seeker with none other than Harry Potter, rumored to be the best seeker this century, caught on like wildfire. The team they were facing, The Chudley Cannons, mysteriously lost both their beaters and keeper to food poisoning from a box of sweets delivered by a strange, dreamy blonde. Luckily for Cassabelle, there were a score of redheads standing by to take their place. Very fishy, very convenient and a little intimidating for Alec. The Weasley twins were legendary beaters, it was like each could anticipate where the other would be. Some sort of weird psychic twin connection or something. If anyone was up to taking them to task it was Alec and Meri. The game had become sort of a special event and was moved from it's traditional spot of Quiggley's Quidditch Pitch to a special stadium set up just outside of Hogsmeade so students from Hogwarts could enjoy the match as well. On top of Potter they managed to nick Ginny Weasley to stand in for their chaser and Luna Lovegood (the dreamy blonde with the candy, that was enough to give Alec a foreboding feeling about the match.) to announce. It was sort of a War Hero vs Quidditch Star thing at this point. Alec stood just off the pitch, adjusting the protective arm braces and testing his beater bat's grip. His team, both old and new, were assembled. The captain rolled his shoulders and shook out his arms before looking over his team with a distinct note of pride. "You look good in Puddlemere blue." he teased Harry Potter with a grin, adding "You should consider wearing it more often." When it was time he mounted his broom with ease, kicking off and the team rose as one into the air, flying out to meet the Chudley Cannons in middle of the pitch. The seekers flew above them, chasers assembling, keepers ready to go to their rings. A smug smile graced the pretty boy's lips as he addressed Cassabelle Blackburn "Maybe you'll actually have a shot this time with half your team replaced." It was gentle ribbing, rivalry for the sake of fans. He and Cass were good friends outside of the pitch, mortal enemies on it and Alec played the part very well. The whistle blew and the chasers were off, all vying for control of the quaffle when the referee threw it high into the air. _________________________________________________________ Puddlemere - Beaters: Alec Wayland and Meri (NPC) Chasers: Ginny Weasley , Addy Stark , @amelia Keeper: NPC Seeker: Harry Potter Chudley Cannons - Beaters: Fred and George Weasley Chasers: Cassabelle Blackburn , NPC x 2 Keeper: Ron Weasley Seeker: Draco Malfoy Announcer: Luna Lovegood Students and Adults can attend the game as spectators. This was a dream, really. Or maybe it was a nightmare, he'd certainly had plenty like this before. Standing there in orange robes, broom in one sweaty palmed hand waiting for the cue from the captain to mount up. In his nightmares his broom had somehow gotten switched with a muggle one and while everyone zoomed off to play he was left cursing on the ground. It was with great trepidation that he mounted his broom, giving himself a good pinch just to make sure that he wasn't dreaming and he really was playing for the cannons (even if only for one game.)
Nope, the sharp pain in his arm confirmed it and it was further reaffirmed when his broom did take off skyward when he pushed off the ground. Bloody hell, it was really real! Ron was playing for the best team in the league, for one of the best Captains Quidditch would ever see! It wasn't all sunshine and roses, there were drawbacks. Harry played for the enemy, as did Gin and Draco Git Faced Malfoy was seeking for the cannons. Well, there went any hope of them winning the match.
Ron grinned toothily as he flew into position, cannon robes bellowing behind him. This was the best thing to ever happen to him (aside from Hermione) at a time when he really need the pick me up. Tonks' death had really done a number on him, even if he'd never admit how absolutely bleak he felt inside. The Puddlemere captain heckled Blackburn and he scowled at the man. Git. Arse. So many words came to mind. Pompous son of a... Ron's attention turned to Harry and then to Ginny. "Try not to snog yourselves into the path of a bludger, mate."

Parvati Patil was very much excited for this game. Not only was the game most talked about but it was the first time in the league to replace players outside of the team. But then again all those out side players just happened to be the infamous Harry Potter the auror and who was the youngest seeker in a century, Ronald Weasley the best keeper Hogwarts had, the twin brothers Fred and George Weasley why were often referred to as human bludger, Ginny Weasley the famous ex- quidditch player and now correspondent of quidditch at Daily Prophet and last but not the least it was Draco Malfoy. These were the points other witches and wizards saw when it came to this match, but Parvati saw it as a chance to watch her friends play. Almost all of them have been shaken up by the death of Tonks and may be just may be this game would bring them back to how they were. She never played the game herself but she totally enjoyed watching it. Today she was at the game representing the witch weekly as their columnist. She knew that Luna was commentator for the match and was looking forward to it, she could remember her voice from when she did it at school. And that was probably one time, Parvati truly appreciated Luba and get eccentric ways and thoughts.
Parvati was dressed in a simple black skirt paired with a grey blouse and a black cardigan over it. She had her parchment ready to write down everything about the event. She knew that her readers would appreciate the article when it comes out. She took out her self inking quill and began to write down

Post by Luna Lovegood on Oct 17, 2016 8:16:32 GMT
The sun was out, the air was crisp and Luna Lovegood was very excited. She was asked to announce a very special Quidditch match. She was always a fan of the sport, although she never managed to play in any official capacity there were pick up games every now and then. Beater was her favorite position although chaser had it's merits. Team wise, Luna always had to support the underdog although this match made it very hard. Nearly all her friends were playing, spread out unevenly over the two teams.
She sat up high in the announcers box, sporting streaks of both blue and orange paint on her face and through wispy blonde hair. Briefly she considered breaking out her infamous lion hat and making a few adjustments but in the end decided against it, the lion hat was a treasured possession better left unaltered. The teams started filtering out and onto the field and Luna leaned forward to speak into the microphone, her voice filling the stadium.
"It's a lovely day for quidditch!" She enthused, grinning broadly at the charmed microphone. "Unfortunately for our players the nargles will be particularly bad today, they favor this weather as well. I should think most creatures do. Hopefully they've got their nargle repelling necklaces on. The players are flying out onto the pitch. First is Puddlemere United, the oldest recorded Quidditch team in league history. Veteran chasers are Amelia Parkinson and Adelaide Stark who I hear has a delightful dog named Finn. She's rather friendly with my lab assistant, you know. Joining the team as a temporary stand is in Ginny Weasley, former Gryffindor and currently dating Seeker Harry Potter, who occasionally catches the snitch with his mouth. Captain Alec Wayland leads the beaters with partner Meri who's a bit frightening with a bat. Oh, I can't really recall the Keeper's name."
Luna paused, frowning down at her notes and shuffled through them to no avail. The name was nowhere to be found and she supposed it wasn't really important. It was their regular beater. Returning to her mic she continued "The Chudley Cannons are headed by Chaser and Captain Cassabelle Blackburn. She's young and often underestimated but she's put together a great team this year! Most of which are out sick which is rather unfortunate. Fred and George Weasley will be defending the chasers, you can tell them apart because George lost half his ear in a joke making accident, I think. I may be wrong. Ron Weasley is stand in Keeper and he looks very excited to be there, which makes slipping half the team skiving snackboxes worth it, I suppose. Draco Malfoy is stand in seeker, reviving his old Hogwarts rivalry. He used to slick back his hair in his younger years. Maybe he ought to do that again, I think it would make him more aerodynamic and might give him a competitive edge. The referee is out on the field and throws the quaffle into the air, the chasers are off!"

To say she was both nervous and excited was an understatement. Amelia walked hurriedly to the pitch and looked around as the crowd cheered. It has been so long for her to be in the middle of the loud booming voices of fans and spectators that she felt the familiar sense of electric anticipation in her bones. She positioned herself where her team was and unconsciously started chewing her lower lip. Her hair, surprisingly, was tied up and sleeked with all attempts of different concoctions. She remembered asking her parents to watch her game but with much chagrin. They really didn't understand what she was doing with her life nor do they get that Quidditch is NOT just a game for children. She heard Luna say her name and she slightly flinched at the word veteran. She was fairly new. This was even her first game against the famed players. She smoothly flew right beside Ginny Weasley and waited for the cue from their captain. She looked at the players in the other team and, happy that her expression didn't give away much, inwardly paled. The twins was what concerned her most. She remembered in her Hogwarts days that they were a tad unpredictable. She was, however, happy that Harry was on their side knowing all too well what the man is capable of. She just hoped that he hasn't gone rusty after all these years. "Let's do this!" she cheered her team with much enthusiasm and waited. She leaned in and narrowed her eyes at the Quaffle that was in the hand of the referee. The moment the Quaffle was up, she sped threw it and managed to grab it before the other team. One thing Amelia was good at was speed, but she could never throw long distances. She maneuvered away from one player of the Cannons and threw the Quaffle to Addy Stark who was meters away from her. She then did a small spin just in time to escape a bludger aimed towards her. She regained herself and moved straight ahead assisting Addy.

Ginny had been grinning since she had woken up this morning. She was getting a chance to play a professional game of quidditch for te first time in almost two years. She desperately missed the sport and the games that her family and friends put on occasionally weren't always enough for her to get her fix. Her career as a chaser for the Holyhead Harpies was tragically ended due to an injury she didn't allow to heal properly she jumped at the chance to get to play one more game. Sure it wasn't for the team she wanted to be playing for but she was sure glad that she could beat her brother's butt in a professional game rather than one in their yard.
Ginny moved her head from side to side to loosen up the next muscles as she waited with her team. It was an honour to get to play with so many talented players (including the very handsome seeker). "You should see him in dark green. Really brings out his eyes," she looked between the two men in front of her with a smile. Sure this wasn't the time to become jealous, surely Alec was only trying to convince Harry to join the team full time. Something she would be excited about but could see herself being grouchy around him in the beginning as she wasn't supposed to play anymore.
Ginny kicked off the ground and flew alongside the other chasers of Puddlemore United. The more permanent chasers being Amelia and Addy. Ginny had tended to tune out the announcers at games but as Luna was the announcer today her ears couldn't help but wander to what she was saying. A rather audible laugh came from her hearing Luna say that Harry occasionally catches snitches with his mouth.
With the quaffle up and her team's possession of it, she pushed her broom closer to the opponent's side of the pitch and tried to make herself open.

A real game, that was what Addy loved, even though they were playing the Cannons (with most of their players mysteriously ill...) and had some amateurs on their team alongside the pros. Sure, she was excited to be playing with Potter and gang, and greatly amused by the commentator (has she mentioned Meg? Addy's cheeks pinked a bit, though nobody could really see), but most of all she was thrilled to be in the air once more, flying headlong through the clouds with a determined expression in her eye. The twin Beaters were wearing matching, disconcerting grins, but Addy merely copied their expression with fierce glee and dove into the fray as soon as the whistle was blown. Amelia was faster off the mark than she, and Addy trailed her closely, keeping herself as open as she could alongside their replacement Chaser, Ginny Weasley. Throwing the redhead a quick grin of acknowledgement, she stuck out her tongue in concentration as Amelia snatched the Quaffle and rolled to the side, throwing out an arm last minute to catch the Quaffle that was thrown her way. The impact of the Quaffle was greatly satisfying, and her grin widened as she took off, heading straight towards one of the Beaters in an effort to throw him off. When she was halfway there, she locked eyes with him, grinned and dove, keeping an eye out in her periphery for red hair and spotting it- she pulled out of her dive and used her momentum to give the ball an extra spin towards Ginny Weasley. She had barely released the Quaffle before she reversed directions, dropping behind the other two Chasers to play support and waiting to see what the Weasley would do.

Post by Cassabelle Blackburn on Oct 19, 2016 4:12:28 GMT
This was downright strange and Cassabelle couldn't have been more excited. She was worried for her players, of course - apparently whatever had wracked Alec's team was currently working its way through hers, or so it seemed to the oblivious captain - but this was all awfully exciting. A once in a lifetime chance, really. Not everybody got to play a Quidditch match with war heroes, especially not ones that were actually good at the game. When Cass first heard the news, about Alec's replacements, bad words may have been uttered. But as her own players dropped like flies and a troupe of suspiciously similar redheads - and a blonde - rushed at the chance to stand in, Cass started to feel better about what was surely going to be the strangest Quidditch match in British Quidditch history.
Strange or not, no match would be complete without some pregame sass from Alec Wayland. As they went up in the air, he was right on time, and Cass grinned at him (and stuck her tongue out, for posterity's sake - the papers loved that). "Probably, considering all of your good players are grounded today." She threw in an arched eyebrow, compliments of her mum, for maximum effect - because her words themselves didn't have much behind them. Addy was good; Alec was really good as was his beater mate. Even their new player, Parkinson - whom Cass had watched closely the past few weeks, of course - was good. Puddlemere was just...good. That was kind of their thing. But that wouldn't make today any less fun.
The game started and already Puddlemere was showing up. They got the Quaffle before Cass could even blink. She glanced at her chasers and nodded, throwing signals for the formations they'd practiced before settling into one. All three Cannons chasers zoomed down the pitch as the Quaffle moved possession between all of the Puddlemere chasers. Their very own redhead, Cass remembered Ginny from her own Quidditch days, was far down the pitch and ready to catch the ball. While she was busy doing that, Cass and her two chasers formed a defensive line in front of Mister Ron Weasley (whom Cass greeted with a hearty wink before turning to face the rest of the pitch).

Tobias had missed the last Hogsmeade weekend because the moon decided to bug him. He swore one day he’d find a way to shoot that blasted moon out of the sky. That’d solve all his problems. Toby was on his own, he had no real friends. Sure he liked being around Des, the Ravenclaw with cupid hair but he didn’t want to seem pushy. Nobody liked an overly attached friend. Besides they weren’t even friends. Today Tobias had tried in both pubs to get firewhiskey but succeeded in neither. It was not like he hadn’t drunk it before but the pubs wouldn’t give it to him unless he could prove he was seventeen or older. Tskk. Well there went his plans for today. When he left the last pub he saw a crowd had gathered in the main street. “What is all this racket about?” His eyebrow rose in curiosity and he decided to find out. He tried to squirm himself between the mass but he got quickly annoyed with the pushing people. For now he should focus on his goal and not let his annoyance lead into another fit. “Holy shit,” he mumbled as he saw what the deal was. There was a pit in the middle of the street. How had he not seen the loops? Was there a quidditch match going on? His heart raced in excitement, his cheeks glowed healthy pink making them stand out in his pale face. Blue eyes sparkled. This was an actual Quidditch match! With legit professional teams! This was the first real match he saw. He was a little embarrassed when he realized he knew nothing about the teams or players. So he didn’t know who he should root for. But then he saw the man from the job day. Wayland he read on the back of his shirt, oh that was his name. The game was already on going but Tobias decided he wanted to stay and watch. Quidditch brought something out of the usual moody and snarly boy. His face looked nothing like his usual expression as it was shining with excitement. (OOC: feel free to interact with Toby, he is here to watch )

The weekends were always her favorite. There was no class, lots of time for Quidditch and time to visit the quaint little village of Hogsmeade. This weekend was going to be particularly good, the weather was crisp and cool, perfect for a nice warm butterbeer down at The Three Broomsticks before wandering down to the really good part of the weekend.. Quidditch! Jas lived and breathed for Quidditch, nothing quite compared to the feeling of being on a broomstick, zipping around in the air. Keepers didn't do so much zipping, true, but the sentiment still stood.
The lanky sixth year had nearly missed the start of the match, spending a few too many minutes raiding Honeydukes for their sugar quill and jelly slug supply and had to take the trip from the candyshop to the temporary Quidditch pitch at a bit of a run, bag full of sweets bouncing off her hip and curls tangling in the wind. She made it just as the two teams were flying out and getting into formation. This Quidditch game was particularly exciting, an assembly of greats! Four Weasleys lined the pitch, the game must've run in their blood. Ron Weasley was a Keeper of Hogwarts Legend, Gryffindors still hummed his themesong on occasion. Harry Potter, The Harry Potter was up there, decked out in Puddlemere robes. (Puddlemere was her favorite team, just beating out the Holyhead Harpies.) and bloody hell.. Draco Malfoy! Say what you want about him, but she'd heard all about his skills as a seeker.
Dark eyes briefly scanned the crowd for signs of her own favorite Slytherin, frowning slightly when she didn't see Cassidy Bradshaw among the fans. Maybe she was just misssing her, the stands were packed full. The whistle sounded and the Chasers were off, Amelia Parkinson grabbing the quaffle clear out of the air. Jas was on her feet, cheering and hollering along with the rest of the Puddlemere fans as the team expertly passed it between them. So much so that the Cannons seemed to give up taking possession of it and was focused solely on deterring a goal. Oi, let the Keeper do his job!
Movement caught the corner of her eye and Jasmine saw @julia7 climbing into the stands, looking enamored by the game. "Look what the cat's finally dragged in." she said, her tone friendly and light while she resettled in her seat. She scooted off to the side, patting the newly vacated space beside her and inviting the boy to sit. " 'Bout time you came out of hiding." Jasmine leaned her elbows on knobby knees, eyes fixed skyward to watch the players. "I'm a Puddlemere fan myself, but I've got a soft spot for the Keeper playing for the Cannons. What about you?"

Post by Hayden Pierce O'Brien on Oct 20, 2016 23:27:12 GMT
It had taken Hayden most of the morning to decide if she was going to Hogsmeade. There was some kind of Quidditch game going on, and some of the O’Briens were pretty much guaranteed to be there. Hayden liked her new family. She really did. But some part of her was still waiting for them to change their minds about this adoption thing. Still, Alec Wayland was going to be there too. Hayden hadn’t seen the beater since that terrible day in Diagon Alley. She wasn’t even sure if he remembered her. Trace had offered to get a letter to him for Hayden, but she hadn’t quite made up her mind yet. And then Hannah had mentioned the game and it had seemed like providence. Maybe Hayden could get a look at him from the crowd. Maybe that would help her decide. That was the real reason she was in Hogsmeade today, although she would never admit it to anyone. Well, except maybe Ari, but the orphanage’s counselor was nowhere in sight today.
Part of the O’Brien clan was though. Hayden caught sight of them a short distance away as she worked her way through the stadium to a better vantage point. Trace had been a back-up player on the Gryffindor team in the days of the Weasley twins and even Harry Potter himself, though he claimed not to know them very well outside of the occasional game. But he had come to cheer on his old teammates. Namely those playing for the Cannons because any loss for Puddlemere was good for the rest of the league, even if it wasn’t official. His girlfriend and teammate Emily had shown up as well and was loudly yelling encouragement for the league’s youngest captain. Hannah was there too, having been in school with many of today’s stand-ins. Apparently Gryffindor loyalty never died. She had taken up the Puddlemere side though, both to support her other housemates and to irritate her brother, and Trace was doing his best to drown out her cheering with his own. Then there was Becca with her reporter’s notebook on the off chance anything truly exciting happened. She was shaking her head at the antics of her siblings, but there was a smile on her face. That smile widened as she caught sight of Hayden and waved for her niece to come join them. Hayden very nearly seized the offer. It was easier being around the crazy O’Brien clan without Claire there trying to act like her mother. But then she caught sight of Toby, who had been pretty much avoiding him since returning to Hogwarts. He seemed to be in a remarkably good mood as he watched the players. Maybe this was a good time to approach him. Hayden waved back to Becca but pointed over toward Toby instead. Becca gave her a thumbs-up before rolling her eyes in the direction of Trace, who was now trying to wrestle his hand over Hannah’s mouth to silence her yelling, and Emily, who had switched to shouting playful insults at Puddlemere. Hayden couldn’t help grinning as she turned away. The O’Briens were crazy.
It took a bit of weaving to get through the packed stands to Toby and another Gryffindor. He and Hayden might not be friends exactly, but they were each about the closest thing the other had. Neither one was good at letting others in. Toby was too explosive, and Hayden was too quiet. Complete opposites. And yet somehow they coexisted quite peacefully. Or at least they had until Hayden’s adoption. Please Merlin, don’t let him be mad at her for getting adopted. Or because her new parents worked at the Ministry. It wasn’t like she could do anything about that. And they really were good people, although Claire would probably be shocked speechless to hear Hayden actually defending her. Plus there were rumors about some kind of fight and Toby staying away from his common room. It was concerning. Hayden gave @julia7 a small smile as she reached him. “Hey,” she said, her voice sounding quiet in the roar of the stadium. “You mind if I join you?” Her eyes flicked to the Gryffindor girl, but it was clear the question was meant for Toby.
(OOC - Most of the large O'Brien clan is up for adoption, so check out their adoptables if you're interested.)

When it came to Quidditch, Crystal was a diehard Harpies fan. Always would be. Which rather complicated her allegiances today because Ginny was playing chaser for Puddlemere as was Addy Stark, Crystal’s current partner in crime who she was rapidly coming to think of as a genuine friend. But Crystal’s Gryffindor spirit left her pulling for the underdog. So today she was decked in orange with a black cannon painted on each cheek. It had absolutely nothing to do with the Weasley twins beating for Blackburn’s team. Nope. Nothing at all. “Come on, Cannons!” she yelled, clapping loudly as the quaffle was off. Seeing all these familiar faces soaring across the pitch felt almost like being back in school. The adrenaline of the crowd was catching, and Luna’s commentary just made things even more exciting.
Unfortunately, Puddlemere got to the quaffle first. Darn it. “Get it back! Come on, George! Take her out! Don’t let Stark get it! What are you doing? For Merlin’s sake, Fred, stop your sister!” Crystal was heartily determined to scream herself hoarse by the end of this match. Besides, it was all in good fun. And the wizarding world could use a healthy dose of fun right now with everything that was going on.

The world was a mess; things were falling down around Harry's ears and the blood, sweat and tears he'd put in to rebuild it weren't making any difference - but at least there was Quidditch. Harry hadn't played seriously for a while, though pick-up games at the Burrow were many. Then he was more of a jack-of-all-trades to fill what positions were needed rather than a Seeker, but his reflexes were still sharp (had to be, saved him from many a curse) and his enthusiasm for the sport was unmatched - -well, perhaps not. Alec Wayland, who'd asked him to sub for Puddlemere, had a pretty ambitious outlook and Harry had to respect that, just as he respected the Quidditch Captain's drive and talent. He'd accepted the offer without much persuasion, and had done some practice to prepare so that he didn't hit the ground on a dive, and here he was, getting ready for the game next to Alec... and across the pitch from Ron, who'd mysteriously ended up playing for his dream team. Harry grinned at the sight, knowing Ron was probably ecstatic, and turned to Alec Wayland at his comment. " Is that an offer?" he replied, easing into the team banter and cocking an eyebrow. " You might want to wait to see me play." Ginny Weasley, on his other side, followed up Alec's remark, and Harry threw her a very fond look, eyes dancing. " Why thank you," he mused. " Maybe I should start my own team. You stay on my side though, okay?" Harry grinned and kicked off, feeling his stomach drop out as he soared into the sky and letting out a loud whoop as he became airborne. Ron was starting to heckle and Harry hollered back in kind, a cheer of " Weasley is our King!" and a loop in the air for emphasis before he started to seek the Snitch. Malfoy was on the other side of the pitch - looking, Harry was sure, for his chance to snatch it out from under his nose - but he wasn't worried... in fact, he was looking forward to the competition. But he was sure that Puddlemere would win with or without him (sorry, Ron)... as long as Fred and George didn't knock him out of the sky first!

This match was great, Tobias wanted to see it all the way through. He’d better find a good spot to sit. The Gryffindor turned around to find a place, he didn’t want to waste a moment. While climbing the stands, his gaze fell upon a girl from his house. If he recalled correctly she was on the Gryffindor team. He tried to watch as many games as possible but sometimes his body didn’t allow him. “Eh? Me?” The boy blinked, confused by her movement. Was she inviting him to sit next to her? A bit nervous he sat down, carefully making sure not to make any body contact. After all the things Kingsley yelled at him when he touched her shoulder, he couldn’t help but feel like he had some contagious disease. Well technically he had, but it was only transmittable during the full moon. Still he didn’t want to make anyone else uncomfortable when they were kind enough to offer him a place already.
His pale cheeks coloured red when Jasmine pointed out the fact that he had been staying away from the Gryffindor room. Toby kept his eyes on the game but couldn’t help but wonder how much she knew. “I planned to return by now.. I just hadn’t found the eh- right time...” Lies obviously he just hadn’t found the courage. He had done many attempts standing before the fat lady but in the end he always gave up and told himself he’d try again the next day. But maybe he could return tonight. If Jasmine was going back he could casually sneak in with her.
He kept watching the game as their conversation continued. Jasmine started telling about her favorite team. A smile crept on his usual brooding face. Still he couldn’t help but be embarrassed not knowing much about all the different quidditch games. This was his first real match. Puddlemere was the team in blue. The one that had Wayland, the guy from the career day. Tobias followed him now in specific. “Woah,” he gasped in awe. “Mr. Wayland is pretty amazing,” he whispered enthusiastically. Too bad he hadn’t time to realize how cool the man was back then. Tobias was too busy being angry at the ministry woman to realize he had been in the presence of a great Quidditch player. “I think I like Puddlemere too,” he concluded with a nod and a smile. “Who is the Cannon’s keeper? Is he the one that inspired you to play?” Tobias asked with curiosity. He studied all the players and tried to read the names on the shirts but some went too fast for him to see. The game drew him in, he was at the edge of his seat. On his face the expression of awe and excitement. He had been too busy with the game to notice someone approaching them. Hey. Tobias gazed up at the sound of the familiar voice and saw Hayden standing next to him. For one second he froze and gazed at her with big eyes. His smile had disappeared. Then he turned around and watched the game again, ignoring her presence as best as he could. What? What was she doing here? ‘Shouldn’t you be with your new family?’ The words were on the tip of his tongue but he just managed to swallow them in time. It was true however, Hayden should focus bonding with her new siblings. Hanging out with a misfit never turned out well. Especially if you shared time in an orphanage wit that misfit. After almost a minute of silence he spoke up but didn’t look at her as he spoke. “The seat is not taken,” he mumbled. Toby tried to focus on the game again but it was hard with Hayden being so close. He missed her dammit but it was better for her if they parted ways. They hadn’t really been friends anyways, he never got the chance to ask.

Jasmine found his question very funny and she laughed, nodding and motioning him over. "Yeah, you! Hurry up, before you miss the match!" She was a very friendly person, would talk to or sit with anyone. Even those who had a poor reputation around the school for starting fights or hiding from their house by avoiding the common room. Frankly she was surprised the school allowed such a thing but was glad he hadn't gotten in trouble, Gryffindor needed every point they could get. Her mouth occasionally cost them one or two at some point during the term and this year would be no exception.
The shy boy did take her up on the offer, settling in next to her but still looking contained and restrained. Whatever floated his boat! Jas nodded along as he explained he was looking for the right time to come back, chiming in "Well, you've come back just in time for the greatest match in Quidditch history!" Because honestly, what could get much better than this? Toby seemed entertained by the game, impressed with Wayland. Beaters... Pft. "Yeah, he's pretty good." she agreed, eyes following the dark haired captain as he flew across the pitch, flanking his chasers. "But Beater's an easy position. You've just gotta fly around a whack stuff." She could appreciate the appeal of hitting things for fun. The Gryffindor grinned broadly when her new friend chose a team. The boy had good taste, but it was quickly overshadowed by his question on the Keeper's identity.
Jas' mouth dropped open in disbelief "You mean you don't know Ron Weasley!?" Incredible! Quidditch Legend! Sort of. At least Gryffindor legend. "Blimey! He's part of The Golden Trio. The one who kicked You-Know-Who's arse. Brilliant Keeper, too. They wrote a song about him when he was in school. His sister.." She pointed out the pretty redheaded girl dressed in blue just as the quaffle was passed to her. "That's Ginny Weasley. They both fought at The Battle of Hogwarts. According to The Witch Weekly she's dating him." Jasmine pointed out the seeker with dark, messy hair. "Harry Potter. The Harry Potter." She leaned over to give Toby a friendly shoulder bump. "Think they'll give us their autograph after the match?"
A Ravenclaw approached the pair of lions, speaking directly to Toby even though they were both clearly there. It made her bristle, she didn't like to be ignored. It was rude, especially since she and Toby'd just been talking. The girl might've not spared her more than a glance but Jas was watching her, eyebrows raised at the cool interaction between the two. "I don't care if you sit there." Jasmine ran a hand through her hair, voice dripping with sass. Prat. Her attention returned to the game and she nudged Toby with her elbow "Hey. Wanna make things interesting? I bet you a Galleon that The Cannons win. Only because Weasley is the Keeper. Otherwise I'd bet that Puddlemere creams them."
