Valentine's Day

If anyone knew Mali at all, they'd know that she would never pass on the opportunity to celebrate anything at all, much less her love for Theo. It was her favorite thing. The morning started with a card delivered by owl, a plain ordinary muggle one. Later, a pair of cherubs arrived at St. Mungo's to follow a very tall, Troll-ish Healer around all day, chucking handfuls of confetti at him (sometimes directly in his face) while playing Celestina Warbeck songs on small, slightly out of tune harps. A vaguely heart shaped cake was owl-delivered around lunch time, slathered in pink frosting that had partially melted off (Mali decorated it far too early, before it had a chance to cool) and punny conversation hearts scrawled with sayings like 'Owl Always Love You' and 'You've Got Me Under Your Spell'.
Her favorite part of the day didn't come until later in the evening. Once she was done with work for the day, Mali popped on over to The Homestead where she could finally see her Valentine. The witch was armed with a Mali-made crocheted troll doll when she knocked on the door. In her excitement, Mali bounced on the tips of her toes, swaying slightly from foot to foot. Theo's large frame eventually darkened the doorway and she grinned up at him and beckoned him down low enough for a kiss on the cheek. " 'Ellooo " Mali crooned as she presented him with the gift. "How was work?" That never used to be a question, she always knew how work had gone for him because she worked at the same place. The separation of workspaces was hard but in a way, it was good for them.
Mali topped off her greeting by wrapping Theo up in one of her warmest, most cuddly embraces. Her arms snaked around his waist, he fit just perfectly in her arms. "I missed you." Now that they worked in different places, she had a better appreciation for the time they had together. They had time to really miss each other. Still... there were no mid-shift visits and that would take getting used too.
