Remus,
I feel like every time I write you it's because I've got a problem. I don't mean to be so needy, but I can't think of anyone better to turn too. You're probably the wisest person I know. Best at magic, too. You're such a talented, kind and accomplished person that even though I feel a bit selfish continually shoving my problems off on you, times like these remind me that I'm very lucky to call you a friend.
The... security? of my project has been compromised. You know that Eoin and I work on my project at home, because it's too sensitive to leave unattended for long elsewhere. I had a very unexpected visitor not too long ago, an old co-worker from St. Mungo's. She was the potion's and poisons expert. I should've been expecting it. Because of how abrupt my resignation was, a lot of people have a lot of questions. It was only a matter of time before one of them turned up on my door step, but I wasn't prepared for it. She recognized what I was doing instantly and immediately tried to use it to her advantage. She's trying to blackmail us, an absurd amount of the potion each month in exchange for her silence. I outright refused, because I don't think anyone would believe her. I could very well be wrong, but she doesn't come from the most trustworthy family. I used to think she was pretty alright, but I was wrong about that, so I could be wrong about this too. She claims she needs it, but I don't believe that, either. I think she's just going to try and sell it and that defeats the whole purpose of what we're trying to do.
I don't want to cave to her. I don't want to buy her silence, but I don't know what else to do. I've thought about obliviating her. We could pull it off. Eoin and Theo would help. When you combine our talents with a bit of desperation we're nearly unstoppable. Eoin is cunning enough that he could've been in Slytherin, and Theo's unmatched in physical ability. We could literally corner her on the street and do it, or slip something into her tea at work to make her more compliant. That's just off the top of my head, we could think of something.
The problem is that altering someone's mind for your own gain sounds an awful lot like something a Death Eater would do, and I'd like to think I'm above all of that. Drugging people, jumping them or playing with their minds. All of it.
So, what do you think I should do? Is there another way? Surely you've been blackmailed a time or two and could offer guidance. Should we just comply? Is there something else we can do aside from obliviating her? Please. I'm sick over this and at a loss over what to do.

P.S - What's this I've heard that you're seeing someone from the Ministry?If it's who I'm thinking, I'm not sure I approve.
P.S.S - Luna helped me with protective enchantments, our communication should be safe from prying eyes. It's supposed to wipe itself clean if the wrong person opens it if all's been done correctly. If not.. I guess I'll see you in Azkaban?
