The morning had gone swimmingly. Another day away from the hospital and Mali was starting to feel less like a sleep deprived harpy and more like a human again. Her easy morning had come to a very abrupt end when Horus, a large barn owl who had faithfully carried her letters since she was a first year, ruffled his feathers to reveal something he'd been hoarding. He was a funny sort of bird, grumpy as all get out but also very jealous. He didn't like when other birds brought her letters and would often abscond with them should they arrive while she was out or occupied. He looked very irritated, cold shouldering her. Mali investigated his odd behavior and found a message clutched in his talons. "I always feel like I'm cheating on you when you act like this." She scolded, smoothing out the parchment. "It's really not fair, you know. You can't bring me every letter." Horus hooted indignantly as Mali set to reading, face falling and lip catching between her teeth. It was from the MDLE, that was alarming. It was from the MDLE and about the hospital. The words seemed to suck all the air out of her lungs as a feeling of dread settled in to the very pit of her stomach. They couldn't know, could they? Theo Ashland had murdered two people under a Death Eater's direction and she had become an accomplice in the sense that she helped him sneak out of the hospital. Most Healers and the Aurors were occupied on the lower floors or around Mister Stark's room. Because of that, and a lot of luck, the pair of them had managed to make it out of the hospital without being seen. That wasn't really dread settling, it was panic. Sheer panic. What should she do? Sugar, this was bad. She needed to talk to Theo. Of course, Theo. See what he thought about this, how he thought she should proceed. Mali grabbed her wand and spun back on her heel, disappearing from her flat with a crack, leaving a startled and petulant owl in her wake. It might've been considered rude, but there was no time to delay. Mali apparated right to Theo's doorstep with an even louder crack as she materialized. "Theo!" she called, banging on his door. Mali didn't delay her arrival for even a moment, not even taking the time to change into regular clothes. She was barefoot with tangled bedhead hair and wearing light blue pajama shorts decorated with pink pygmy puffs paired with a Puddlmere United fan shirt. Bare toes tapped impatiently as she knocked and eventually the door would open, sleepy face of Theo peering through. "Look!" she said, sparing no time for greetings. "I dunno when this came, Horus was hiding it, but look. Harry Potter. Isn't he a pretty big deal in the auror department? You think they know? They know. They've got to know." She spoke breathlessly, babbling on in her panic. "But how!? No one was there. The patients were hiding and even if they weren't.. Their brains are all addled, who would take their word for it!? D'you think they caught the Death Eater and she sold you out? Oh, I could kick her in the knee." Mali ran a hand through her unbrushed hair, fingers getting caught in a knot. "What d'you think we should do?" the witch asked, biting down on her lower lip and folding her arms over her chest. "Whata should I do?" Theo Ashland

Theo was slowly working his way back to work, sort of kind of maybe not really. Not today, at any rate. Maybe tomorrow. He was trying, really, he'd even made it to the front of the building - whereupon he observed a relatively concerning scene involving one Draco Malfoy that made him turn right back on his heel toward home. He'd tried a few times since then, too, managing to go inside and even managing working a couple of hours, but he always ended up going home 'sick'. Theo didn't spend that much time in the actual hospital being a Medi-Wizard and all, but just the very sight of its corridors made him ill. He had no idea how to get over that, so a few more days of rest at home it was. Just a few.
Or maybe none at all, given the speed and volume of the banging at his front door. His bedroom was the closest to the front, and the sound woke him with a dread he'd been expecting ever since that fateful day at work. Surely that was the Aurors, ready to knock down his door and cart him off to Azkaban. But...someone was shouting his name. Theo tilted his head and listened a moment...was that, was that Mali? Maybe it was just wishful thinking, but on the off-chance that it was his unwilling accomplice, Theo bolted out of bed and to the door before anyone else could get to it. Surely it wasn't the first time a woman came pounding on their door looking for them, but Theo most definitely did not want any of his family talking to Mali if he could prevent it. That was asking for trouble; Ashlands were incredibly nosy by nature and he was having a hard enough time keeping his secret from them as is.
It was Mali. As Theo pulled the door open, there she was, in all of her pajama-ed glory. She looked adorable, but Theo didn't have the pleasure of those indulgences right now, because she was shoving a letter in his face, and his heart was soon plummeting straight into his gut, which promptly fell like a lead balloon all the way to his feet. "Oh, Merlin," he groaned, his eyes skating over the letter but not really reading. Mali was telling him all the important bits. Theo ran his hands over his stubbly face, mainly trying not to vomit or pass out or both. They knew? Of course they knew. Why else would they send Mali a letter? Why would Harry Potter send her a letter? Where was his letter?! Theo's brain was bound to catch fire with how fast the wheels of paranoia were spinning now. What should they do? Pack their belongings, Apparate to Brazil, and call it a day, is what they should do. It was more of a matter of could.
"Come here," he said in a hushed voice, reaching almost unconsciously for the hand in her hair that looked like it was pulling rather painfully at some tangles. He tugged her inside. "We can't talk about this here. My family is sleeping. My room, come on." He nudged her toward the one open door in the house, the one he'd just come bolting out of. That was asking a lot, meeting behind a closed door with a man she probably still didn't fully trust; but Theo's family could not find out about this. He was about three steps from freaking out and he didn't want to do it in his bloody living room. "I didn't get a letter. Why'd they send you one, and not me? Maybe they don't know. Maybe they do. Oh, Merlin."

Mali's insides twisted uncomfortably, unconsciously at the thought of being alone with Theo. Although in her mind Theo was absolved from all guilt the image of him casting the killing curse was forever burned into her retinas, a shadowy ghost image to be replayed whenever the anxious tingles it gave her up her spine were most inconvenient.. Like when Theo was urging her towards his bedroom. Disentangling her hand she let him have it and dragged her feet unintentionally, something in the pit of her stomach fluttering with a small twinge of trepidation. She went of course because they did need to talk and because of course she couldn't out Theo to his entire family in her alarm at the letter. He said they were sleeping anyway but Mali sort've doubted it, remarking "Are you sure they're still sleeping? I knocked loud enough to wake up the whole countryside. Sorry." At her apology she sheepishly ducked her head.
Once inside his bedroom Mali immediately made herself at home, flopping down on the bed because anxiety tended to make her knees weak. Favoring curling up over sprawling out, she drew her legs up and folded them. "Dunno, maybe s'not about you a'all." she theorized, rubbing the sleepiness from her eyes. Normally early mornings were her favorite. People were raw and fresh, exactly as they were intended to be but there was no time to admire the newly woken Theo, not when they had the letter to address. "D'you think I could get away with not responding? Say my owl ate it or something if they asked. If they met Horus they wouldn't find that entirely out of character." Mali leaned forward, propping her elbow up on her knee and resting her chin in her palm. She answered her own question with a noise of discontent. "I don't lie and I don't think I want to start lying to the DMLE I'm pretty sure that's a crime. I'm pretty sure smuggling you out of the hospital was a crime, too. I've never been a criminal before." Restless, Mali leaned back and propped up on her wrists. Worry and anxiety were clearly written across her face, leaving no room for her trade mark of a bright, wide smile. "Maybe it really isn't about you."
Still covered in a haze of sleepiness, Mali's mind wandered for a moment. She looked around the room and cocked half a grin. "So this is your bedroom. I thought trolls lived in caves." One couldn't focus strictly on the bad stuff without going off the deep end. She still needed to make occasional witty remarks. The troll thing was sensitive, but maybe if they pretended it wasn't such a sore subject they could get back to normal, where they didn't have to tip toe around worrying about saying the wrong thing. "And slept on rocks. Your bed's not very rock like."

Theo could feel Mali's hesitation, from her fingers to her toes. He was as gentle as a troll can be as he urged her out of the entrance way and toward his room; he needed so badly for her to just trust him, but he would work with what he got. She was moving in the right direction, anyway, so Theo tried to make that as appealing as possible for her - gentle, very gentle - while still communicating his urgent desire to get the hell out of his living room. "I suspect they're up now, yeah, and that's even worse. Come on," he whispered. He listened hard for sounds of wakefulness until they reached his bedroom, where he again shut the door with purpose and blocked out the outside world.
Theo turned from his door only to find Mali making herself comfortable on his bed. The corners of his lips twitched, despite the rather dreadful reason for his visit. Well, that was promising. She wasn't cowering in the far corner from him, or even sitting primly on the very edge of the only seating in the room - she just flopped right down, with none of the hesitation from before. Theo sat down heavily next to her, mirroring her actions and rubbing his face to try to work out some of the sleepiness. Mali at his front door had been quite a wake up call, sure, but the sleepy morning haze hadn't dissipated from his bedroom yet and its influence was strong, no matter if he was on his way to Azkaban or not. Sleep obviously had a special hold on Theo. He flopped on his back, resting his hands behind his head.
He listened carefully to Mali's...could they call it a plan? Apparently not, because she threw it out herself not a moment later. He thought lying was a great idea, really solid. That wasn't really surprising, and it also wasn't really surprising at all that Mali didn't want to do it. She was nothing if not honest. "It's not really lying if you just don't say anything at all," he tried, but trailed off pretty abruptly because she was right. They would come asking if she didn't write them back. And if she didn't want to write back a lie, what could they possibly do? Theo sighed, looking over the bridge of his nose at Mali as she leaned back. "I know, I'm sorry." Theo was rather sure his apologies were losing purpose, for how many times he'd said it to Mali over the past weeks. She didn't deserve to get mixed up in this, but the deed was done. "If it's any consolation, I think you make a pretty terrible criminal. That's a good thing. S'Just, not many criminals lasting too long if the first person they spill it all to is a bloody Auror." He poked her in the side, mouth twitching again. He was near hypnotized with how much he just wanted to cuddle up and go back to sleep right now, sod off from a world where things like killing curses and letters from Aurors and fearful girls existed. It was making him loopy, and not helpful in the least; but he honestly had no idea what else to do. In the spirit of pretending (read: lying, just to themselves) he said in a slight tone of voice, "Maybe. You think maybe they're just talking to everyone to get a better picture?" His very voice sounded disbelieving. Didn't explain why he didn't get a letter; and as far as he knew, none of his sister's mail owls were particularly fond of snacking on paper.
Mali seemed to be going the same route as he. He must have dreamed up some pretty potent sleep waves in here overnight, because she was going loopy too. Theo could just see the little grin on her face from where he lay. Trolls. Their old joke was touchy, something they'd tried to avoid in the days since the attack...but if they were ever going to get through this, any of it, they had to forego the sensitivity. Pretending was a thing that worked for them, sometimes, just acting like nothing out of the ordinary had happened - maybe it wasn't exactly the healthiest of solutions, but it worked. Got them through the really rough days, the stickiest situations - like receiving vague letters from the DMLE and having no idea what to do with them. "I'm a very sensitive troll, Mali." Theo laid his hand on his chest, over his sensitive little troll heart. "We have our comforts too, you know. Me, in a cave? As if."

Mali, who'd spoken at normal volume, slapped a hand over her mouth. Taking a hint from his own whisper she apologized again with a hushed "Sorry, that was a little loud." The letter disturbed her so much that she didn't spare a second to think about the fact that it was very early and the Ashlands were probably fast asleep. It was lucky that Theo's bedroom was close to the door, she'd have an awfully hard time explaining to the siblings or the patriarch why she was banging on their door barefoot and clutching a very official looking message from the Ministry. "I should've waited 'til later but I sort've panicked a bit." And very likely would still be panicking had she not gotten Theo out of bed.
There was another thrill of anxiety when Theo closed the door. Her heart sped up, lungs felt like they were tightening. Settling herself in to a spot on Theo's bed helped ease out some of her tension. The nervousness was unfair, as many times as she told Theo it wasn't his fault she needed to start believing it all the time, not just most of the time. No matter what images flashed across her eyelids when she closed her eyes. Theo, cute as ever, laid down and it was very tempting to join him, curl up and forget that they were discussing something very dire.
She wrinkled her nose in distaste at Theo's reasoning. "It still feels dishonest. Like I'd be lying and pretending I never got it because I didn't answer it." Maybe former Gryffindors didn't have the same honor codes as former Hufflepuffs. It was difficult to articulate into words, but Mali didn't think she would be able to just ignore the message at any rate. "Why Harry Potter, though? Of all Aurors? He's a pretty big deal. I don't think I could talk to him about anything, much less this." Mali was someone who was easily star struck and socially awkward over incredibly important people. Her face took on a very serious expression when he apologized and uncomfortable with it all, Mali busied herself with picking at a stray string in Theo's bedcovers. "Don't apologize. It's not your fault." She believed that, at least she would if she kept thinking in. She believed it most of the time, that counted for something. "None of it is. I chose to help you." What else could she have done? Theo was frightened and seemed almost childlike and defenseless in his confusion and grief. He couldn't have fended for himself if confronted by Death Eater or Auror.
She shook her head, clearing out the heavier feelings as Theo lightened the mood with a poke that drew a laugh and gentle teasing. The way he sort of smiled when he poked her did her in. Merlin. It was hopeless, she had fallen hard for Theo somewhere along the way. "Except it won't be the first time I told our secret." she revealed, stretching and yawning out last night's sleep. The adrenaline rush from the alarming letter was finally wearing off, or maybe she was feeling sleepy because Theo looked so comfortable laying down. "I told Greta, I tell her everything." Half a beat passed before she remember to clarify what exactly a Greta was. "She won't tell anyone though, she's a Niffler. Although I suppose her allegiance can be bought with a knut if it's shiny enough." Mali shrugged her shoulders. "S'alright, not many people speak Niffler anyway."
The space next to Theo was inviting and the urge to curl up with him overpowering. They were going to Azkaban anyway, right? Might as well enjoy the time they had together while they could. Mali moved from her spot to laid on her side next to him, cheek resting in her propped up palm. Mali laughed again as he answered her question. He always made her laugh, even during dark times. What was the saying? Happiness could be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light. Theo was her light in the darkness, sometimes literally, most times figuratively. "You're a very unique troll then." she said, momentarily distracted by the hand on his heart and her own desire to take that hand in hers. "You know, I never thought I'd find myself fancying a troll. Funny where life takes us."

Theo looked back and shook his head as he led Mali into his bedroom. He understood the tendency to panic very well now; if he had been the one to get a letter, bet your ass he would have gotten a hold of Mali quicker than you can say Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. "No, I'm glad you came," he whispered back. They were in this together. If anything Theo should be happy to have Mali on his front doorstep at the near crack of dawn. Because that meant she was thinking about him first, and not the Aurors she could be telling all about him.
Once they were in the sanctity of his room and his oh so cozy bed, that sense of relief mingled with sleepiness. Theo considered Mali's words not with the panic he expected - that had reached critical peak at the door and promptly crashed in his nest of blankets - but rather a slow, conscious consideration totally unlike him. "I guess. Doesn't it feel a little less dishonest than an outright lie, maybe? What else can we but tell the truth?" That was a very terrifying prospect, but still his eyes fluttered - to shoot open at the mention of Harry Potter's name. Ah, right. That spooked Theo more than anything. "That is weird, innit? Why him? I don't think I could talk to him, either. You think maybe you can just write him back or something without having to see him?" Theo was grabbing at straws here, really trying the best his sleepy brain would allow. Harry Potter was a hero, but he'd become a hero by killing the world's Darkest wizard. Imagine what he could do to a lowly old mountain troll and his unwitting accomplice. Theo really didn't think Mali had much of a choice that day, but her insistence that she chose to help him was still enormously relieving, for the same reason as before. Mali was on his side.
If she wouldn't take his apologies, the next best thing he could do was try to make her laugh. He liked seeing Mali happy. She deserved it after what he'd put her through. Plus, it made him happy. Things weren't so bad in their little world of teasing that even the darkest conversations couldn't completely shoo out of the air. He raised an eyebrow at her confession about Greta, his heartbeat taking a momentary uptick - but relaxed into a smile once he found out what a Greta was. "Sounds like cheap talk. We'll have to keep an eye on that Greta. I trust you are one of the few who speak the language perfectly?" Look, they were even joking about it now, that terrible thing. Call it denial, but it sure felt a whole hell of a lot better than fretting over it every minute of the day.
But nothing, nothing, could feel as good as Mali cuddling up next to him. Trust, affection, warmth - all bubbled up inside Theo, to spill over when Mali's laughter rang out and she spoke again. She fancied him. After all this they went through and all that was ahead, she wasn't denying her feelings for him. Theo thought it was still there, felt it too, but didn't dare act on it. To put all of these problems on her and then his affections on top of that felt more than wrong. But with her admitting it too...it was right. All alright. Had to be. It felt very right, as he rolled over on his side to face her. Her warmth felt very right, too, as he ran a thumb over her cheek and placed the lightest of sleepy little kisses at the corner of her mouth. It was growing again, the sleepiness, with all this warmth all around him. "Well don't you know, from this angle we could almost pretend you're tall. Like my pretty lady troll. Obviously life brought us to this moment to enlighten us to this match." Sleepiness made him say silly things (we'll blame the sleepiness anyway, but we all know Theo is just cheesy by nature); but he couldn't think of another girl in the world who could possibly take kindly to his calling them a troll.

The fact that Theo was glad she came gave her a little warm feeling to radiate through her chest. That's probably not how he meant it, more something along the lines of 'I'm glad you came to me instead of panicking and running to the Ministry to blow our cover' or something but Mali'd like to think that he meant that he was glad she was there, at any rate. Even if she came with the unfortunate news of a message from the ministry. The feeling was conflicting with the prickle of anxiety she felt as he led her into his room and closed the door, tugging Mali's emotions in two different directions.
She tilted her head, sitting up enough to wring her hands in her lap, her discomfort with the situation growing. Mali scrunched her eyebrows together while she considered Theo's point. "It feels less dishonest, you're right." she agreed after a thoughtful moment, reluctantly nodding her head. "But it still feels dishonest." Anxiety was clearly written across her features and she bit on her lower lip, gaze shifting down to the wrung hands in her lap. "The truth'll get you thrown in Azkaban. Maybe me too." Theo was too pretty for jail and she was too young, she decided. The truth didn't feel like a very good option. "But I can't lie. I'm a terrible liar. I'm not honest for honor's sake, it's necessity." she said, peeking up with a cheeky grin. Theo nearly looked like he could fall asleep 'til the name of the chosen one rolled off her lips. The name woke him up, forced open lids heavy with sleep. Mali went back to toying with the stray string, shrugging her shoulders. "Dunno." Harry Potter. The Harry Potter. She wouldn't have minded meeting the bloke under normal circumstances but she didn't want to end up on the wrong side of his criminal investigation.
Ah, that smile. Mali's heart gave a thrill as a flash of alarm melted away to Theo's handsome smile. They could get through this, as long as he kept smiling. Nifflers were a better subject of conversation than an alarming letter from the Boy Who Lived. It was an easy, silly conversation. "She is." Mali admitted with a nod and a closed lipped smile. "Cheapest you'll ever meet. I don't even think it has to be a knut. Give her a piece of tin foil and she'll sing like a canary. She's not got a lick of loyalty when it comes to something shiny." Mali laughed again, nodding her head. The fear she felt earlier felt irrational now. Even given the heavy circumstances being with Theo right now made her feel lighter, like if they kept laughing they could take on anything, curses and cruel Death Eaters and chosen ones be damned.
And kept laughing she did. Theo rolled up on to this side, bringing them face to face, noses mere inches from each other. That thumb of that hand she wanted to take moments before was stroking her cheek and her skin tingled pleasantly under his touch. Her heart felt buzzy and light as Theo's lips barely touched hers, favoring a kiss in the corner of her lips. All reservations were thrown out the window with that sweet little kiss and Mali took Theo's hand, bringing it to her lips so she could kiss the back of it just like he'd done on their first date. His pretty lady troll. "Does that mean you get to be my handsome man troll?" She asked expectantly. She'd take it, especially if it meant they could lay like this a good while longer.

The anxiety wracking Mali's body, from her face to her movements all across the rest of her, was killing him. On top of sharing the feeling, it upset him to upset her (and this was his fault, his brain reminded him all the time); it also made him the slightest bit nervous to see her so worked up about something like this, and it all ultimately just wore him out. Theo was an endless maelstrom of conflicting emotions, but that didn't mean he didn't get sick of it. He was already tired, exhausted, and his problem-solving abilities were wont to shut down on him completely in that state. "That's right," he said quietly. Azkaban. He would definitely go there if he was ever found out; he wasn't entirely sure what they would do with Mali, but he didn't want to risk it. Mali didn't seem to want to either. She acknowledged that they were stuck between a truth and a lie, and that she couldn't speak either of them. So what to do? "Maybe...maybe I could go for you. Say you're too traumatized to talk about that day, or something. I can be pretty convincing when I wanna be." He looked up and met Mali's cheeky little grin, but his voice betrayed him. Convince Mali he could do this, he could not, because Theo had absolutely no earthly desire to ever meet, speak, or look at Harry Potter at this point.
He'd ever rather talk to Greta over the Boy Who Lived, even if she had no loyalty at all. At least she could only speak Niffler. "Hmm, something you two have in common, then?" He teased, Mali's laughter sweeping away all the nasty little feelings hanging in the air, like a broom taken to a stubborn cobweb. Let them just have this, and maybe everything would be okay. Maybe if they were happy they could better figure out what to do. Or maybe not, because Theo was very happy in this moment as Mali curled up next to him and he kissed her, and that happiness filled his brain with light and no good ideas at all (no good ideas about what to do with the letter, at least). He was totally enamored with her holding and kissing his hand, and he nodded against his pillow. "All yours." He bit his lip, searching her face and hesitant to see if he needed to say more. This moment felt heavy with an important question, one that came out only as, "Okay?" Was it okay that he was her's, and she his?

Theo offering to go for her was endearing, to say the least. Whether it was to save his own skin when she flubbed up the lies or to save her from staining her own soul with dishonesty she didn't really know, but she liked to believe it was the second one. Mali knew that given a choice Theo would stay far, far away from the Ministry, the auror department and famous Harry Potter so to offer to go in her place was sweet. The shadow of a smile worked it's way across her face but Mali shook her head. "That doesn't fit." It really, truly didn't. A shame that it didn't, because Theo was likely their best hope. "You were out of work for how long... at least a week after? No one bought your story of scrofungulus. Everyone knew you were just having a hard time." It was very understandable that Theo was having a hard time after. She didn't blame him for it, most times. Occasionally a little bitterness would rise up that couldn't be ignored. "I went back the next day. If I was so traumatized and you had such a good grip on this, then the roles would've been reversed." Not that her going back meant she had a good grip on anything at all, it just meant that her sense of duty was greater than her desire to hide under a blanket and cry 'til everything felt better.
Mali propped herself up on her elbow, mock affront written all over her face. "Me? A cheap talk? Did you miss the whole 'just and loyal' bit of Hufflepuff? I've got loyalty coming out of my ears, Mister Gryffindor." As was her way, Mali bopped Theo right on the nose to emphasize her words. She couldn't keep up the mock offense for long and soon Mali was settling right back in next to Theo, reveling in their closeness. 'All yours.' the words did her in, she could melt into a puddle of happiness right there. It was sweet, she and Theo. Mali let go of his hand in favor of his handsome face, fingers grazing across his cheek and over his chin.
Mali was grinning at Theo when he seemed hesitant or self conscious over his statement. "Yeah." she nodded, laughing. "Okay!" Okay. Okay. With that simple word, Theo and Mali went from two separate people floundering through a traumatic and tragic event to a couple. An 'us'. It made it all official, no turning back now. It was strange, how things had changed for them. Now there was nothing holding them back and Mali scooted closer, curling up in Theo's warmth and against his chest, head tilting up to place a kiss on bottom of his chin. "You're sort of wonderful, you know. Trollishness and snark and all."

Damn. No one had bought his excuse? Theo hadn't really expected his fake case of scrofungulus to get by whole hospital's worth of scrupulous medical professionals, but apparently no one at all believed him. That was a little embarrassing, and a little panic-inducing (if he hadn't been too damn sleepy for either emotion they would've reared their ugly heads, at least), but Theo shoved it to the side and listened to more of Mali's reasoning. He sighed, because again she was right. Every time he spoke he just felt more and more stuck. "I suppose that's true. I don't know what to do, Mali, honestly. I just don't want you to have to do this alone." He wasn't going to apologize again, because she told him not to, but there was a core of guilt buried beneath all that sleepiness and building warmth of having Mali right next to him.
Just and loyal Mali. The little reminders that they were in this together, that Mali was loyal to him and not going to sell him out, sure made it a heck of a lot easier even when he had no idea what to do. "You do?" He questioned with his own fake disbelief, reaching over and brushing long, dark hair away to examine said ears. He got a bop on the nose for that and he was brought right back to the Shrieking Shack and all the feelings they'd been fighting since those days. The fight was gone, out of them both, replaced with easy little touches and smiles like they'd been that way all along. Okay. Mali moved right up against him and Theo reached for a blanket at his feet. Seeing as how they were both still in their pajamas, he draped it over the both of them, leaving his arm to rest around Mali's middle while she busied herself kissing his chin and complimenting him - in their own particular way, of course. He grinned into a kiss on her forehead, eyes fluttering. "A compliment, wow. I think I could get used to this." He settled into the warmth, body heavy with comfort, mind hazed and floating. "Could definitely get used to this. You're pretty cozy for a lady troll."
