Spoonfuls of Sugar

Ginny's birthday tended to turn into a very interesting event every year. When it was possible, her mother insisted on every family member that was in England to come and have a family dinner for who's ever birthday it was. (The twins usually wanted two dinners on their birthday.) This year it was a lunch as she had convinced her mum to let her free to spend the night how she wanted. (With Harry just to make that clear.) Don't get Ginny wrong. She loved her family very much. She loved that they were close and she loved that she knew that no matter what she had them. She just didn't enjoy their singing abilities. She was thankful that she had somewhere to escape to.

Ginny apparated from the burrow to not to far from Grimmauld Place. She always likes to walk a bit after apparating somewhere. In the beginning, it was so that she wasn't feeling sick and going right into something. Now, it's just an old habit that she didn't see any point in changing. She walked up the steps of the home of Harry Potter and knocked on the door, waiting for the voice that told her to enter. "My family is terrible singers," Ginny's voice spoke down the hall as she entered the building. She hung her purse up on the coat  rack near the door before turning to look down the hall. Her thoughts changed as she saw the flower petals that covered the floor. "But nevermind that lot," she said with a large smile shyly made its way onto her face. She walked down the hallway taking in every inch of the candle lit path. Ginny used one hand to push back a strand that strayed away from her braid to behind her ear. reaching the end of the path she opened the door to the kitchen of Grimmauld place. She felt the blush on her face as she spotted her always messy haired boyfriend. "I really like the new decor outside," she gesture to the door, "But I have a feeling it might make the order members uncomfortable."

It was like everytime Ginny was just about to let it slip to the back of her mind how sweet Harry could be, he just managed to pull that thought back forward in her head. "No, I like the idea of them being special just for me," her arms instinctively wrapped around Harry's neck and resting a bit on his shoulders the second she felt his arms going around her. Ginny felt the tiniest bit of heat rising to her cheeks. "Hello," her grin matched his. "An adventure? Where are we going?" there was a grin on her face. She knew very well that were doing something in the kitchen. Probably cooking because that's what you do in kitchens. However, she wasn't much of a cook if they were having anything but sandwiches. And people don't cook sandwiches. It was odd to think, that the daughter of the Molly Weasley wasn't as great of a chief as her. But who even needs a chief if when you got Harry Potter around.

Ginny raised her eyebrow at Harry's words but her face changed with her laughter as her boyfriend literally swept her off her feet. She tried to fight him off but efforts were weak. She wasn't a big fan of being lifted up and spun around but she seemed to let Harry get away with a few things. (She secretly loved it when he did so.) She was once again presented with the kitchen and she continued to grin "Wow, I feel like I've been here before" she teased but stayed quite and allowed her man to talk. Ginny looked at Harry as if he was crazy at the suggestion of non-dessert food and pretending to be adults. It was her birthday the last thing she wanted to do right now was be all adult like and stuff. "Dessert foods," she stated happily, "How are you going to make crepes?" It's not that she didn't know how to cook but that she wasn't particularly good at it.
